Yesterday I let my rabbit out for a run, and Inoticed that he was holding his right foreleg off the ground. I got abit worried, so I picked him up, and took him inside. I discovered thathis whole leg is swollen. I recently took him to the vet to get hisnails clipped, get his calicivirus shot and get his teeth checked out,but his leg was fine. Now, all of a sudden, it's become swollen andpainful. I can't find a sore on his leg or anything, and I can't thinkof any cause for his leg to become swollen.

I'm hoping to take him to the vet today or tommorrow to get it checkedout, but I'm really worried about him. Other than his leg beingswollen, he hasn't changed his personality. I hope he's alright.

Poor bunny!:(

The vet will be able to tell you what's wrong. It could be anything.

Bunnies can just have strains and sprains. Pipp fell off of achair and scared me half to death because she hurt her back andcouldn't hop. But it was just a sprain and a day or two latershe was fine.

How old is he? Is it his leg or his paw? No sign of a nail infection? No lumps or anything?

Let us know what the vet says!

Ollie (My rabbit) is around ... 10 months old Ithink, give or take a month. It's more his upper leg then his foot.Yesterday it was more swollen, but today I mainly found one big lump.I'm taking him to the vet tomorrow. We couldn't take him in todaybecause there wasn't enough time.

It's painful for him to bend his leg, but he's still running around hishutch like mad. :? I didn't want to let him out for a run in case hehurt his leg more, and he's getting pretty bored in his hutch. I satwith im and watched TV a bit to settle him, but he still wants to getout.

Thanks for your concern. :)

Alright, I took Ollie to the vet today, and, thankfully, the vet said she couldn't feel any breaks. I'm pretty surethat his leg is healing. We still don't know what caused the lump, butit seems like it's getting a bit better. He got some painkillers, andhe's got two days. If the lump hasn't gone down by then, we have totake him back to the vet to get an x-ray. Hopefully he'll get betterbefore then. :brownbunny Hopefully it's not too serious.

Poor Ollie! ,but thankfully there is no brokenbone!,but it's trying to find out where the lump came from in the firstplace:ponder:,you said that it looks like it's getting better, that's agood sign but i would keep a very close eye on it though:)

I'm sending outlots of healing vibes to Ollie

Could it be an allergic reaction to something inthe vaccine, possibly? I know it happens in people occasionally, so Iwould imagine it could happen in rabbits. Just a thought... Give Ollieplenty of nose rubs and treats for me, and tell him to get better soon!

:D I've got good news. The lump in Ollie's leghas gone down by a lot. There's still a TINY little lump there, butit's healing. Today I'm hoping to take him for a gentle run aroundbecause he's been going crazy being stuck in his hutch while the legheals. Hopefully it will be completely gone by the weekend. :) I'mthinking he probably bumped his leg somewhere or something. At first Ithought it might be something to do with the vaccine, but he didn'thave a rash and he was acting completely normal. Anyway, I'm just happyhe's almost better now. :)
