So you guys remember my post a while ago about Claudia's stuck out claw?

It was this thread if you fail to remember ;
https://www.rabbitsonline.net/threads/stuck-out-nail.92120/

What I'm noticing now is that the claw is regrowing back out in the same direction .. To the side.
I don't think it's the claw anymore though, it's clearly her little finger that is bent to the side, because I can clearly see the pink flesh part is pointed outside .. What do I do in this case? .. What even caused her finger to grow out from the side though?

It is normal to have the dew claw growing out to the side like this, it won’t cause any problems unless it is long and catching on things. Can you show a picture of what it looks like now?

It is just that he dew claw is at a funny angle - it will only be an issue if it gets long and keeps catching on things. Keep trimming it short when the nail grows and it should be okay. If it keeps being a problem take her to the vet and they will be able to remove it for you, it’s an easy procedure.

It's just so unfortunate in my opinion. I still have to trim her claws all together, I have too many scars over my front and back because of her zoomies and binkies all over me when she gets too hyped up but I still can't trim them, she moves a lot and doesn't like me touching her paws .. And I'm REALLY afraid of taking her to the vet to trim her nails because if she doesn't stay still with me -her owner that she likes a lot- she surely won't let the vet cut them and they might hurt her ..

Don’t worry it does take a lot of practice getting bunny used to to nail clipping, and you just have to find the restraint that works for you. In the meantime though, Vets and vet nurses are trained to properly restrain rabbits without hurting them, and usually they do it as a two-man job if the bunny is particularly wriggly. (Also a lot of bunnies are usually less wriggly at Vets - they are usually too stunned by the new location, new people, new smells.. my bunny seems like an angel at the vets when she is a little brat to me sometimes! Haha)
Honestly though don’t worry too much this isn’t painful and doesn’t mean there’s something seriously wrong! Though it’s good to be a cautious owner, I commend you for you research and attention :)

Aww, thank you so much. Yes I worry a lot about her and I'm constantly checking her. Her paws, her ears, her teeth, her habits of eating and using the bathroom etc. She's my first pet -that's not a bird- and she means so much to me already. She brought me such pure joy when I was so down so I'm over cautious about everything related to her because I really don't want anything wrong to go with her since we don't have many vets and such. Thank you so much for reassuring me, I'm glad it's nothing serious. <3

You sound like a fantastically attentive owner, she is lucky to have you!!

Agreed, love her how to videos!

I've already seen all that woman's videos before even getting Claudia! I had to study a lot before I did hehe.
Actually today I managed to trim her claws with Dad's help. I had him hold her firmly against him and I cut her claws, by the time I was done she was actually asleep. It was cute and not as difficult as I thought. Right now she's on my right side, giving my forearm a lick from elbow to fingers .. Lol.

Thank you so much for your sweet comments guys. It's an honor to even be in this community. I genuinely appreciate it.

Brilliant! Sounds like you’re doing a good job, well done! We’re glad to have you here too :)
