Hello bunny lovers!

My bun, Peter, is going to be boarded for the next week due to our home being fumigated. This morning I have him with me at the office, the boarding intake isn't until noon. I was expecting him to be annoyed, upset, scared, etc. What I didn't expect was this...

He's flopped to his side, he rolled and now he is dozing like this. He has munched on some food while in the cage and groomed his paws/face.

Am I being overly paranoid to think something is wrong? He just seems way too relaxed considering he is in a cage on my desk instead of in his normal space at home.

I should note, Peter was found wandering the streets at 9 months old. He usually spends days in my yard on an enclosed space with burrows and hides. At night he is inside to keep him safe. He does get bunny safe flea treatment, regular nail trimming/grooming and annual vet visits. Our home life is pretty quite and routine but I am fairly certain his first home life was hectic.

Hm, I don't have much experience with moving rabbits, but bucks can be pretty resilient about changes in environment. My does didn't move an inch from where I put them at the vet, my buck happily explored the whole room. There's also that wild buck that wandered into my yard and got enamoured with my does (and knocked one up), looked like does control the territory, bucks go wherever they'll find does and avoid other bucks.

So, if he keeps eating fine (I didn't notice any hay in the picture?) he might be quite ok. I would check that now and then with a little treat and pets now and then, when one of mine turns its nose on a treat that is a sign for me that there's serious trouble brewing.

Yes, make sure he has tons of hay and keep an eye on him. I brought my rabbit (he is a buck) to school and he did fine, but that might just be him. Could it be the temperature change that has messed him up? Is he normally very active during the day?

My bunny get scared traveling and acts sort of like that but if he's eating he should be fine

Thank you for the responses.

He did have hay and pellets in the opposite corner of the cage. He spent the morning doing a rotation of munching and relaxing. He is neutered if it makes any difference in behavior. He even went (almost) belly up a few times.

I took him to boarding in the afternoon. Where he promptly started exploring his new, temporary, space.
