Does anyone here do that? I went to feed the rabbits and ended up standing outside staring at the stars lol. I know some people might not be able to because of light pollution, I couldn't before. I was just watching satellites going past there lol, my uncle's wife's mother and father are really smart people and kind of hippyish, they know everything about like nature and the enviroment, one's English and one's Italian American and they are so cool to listen to, they got me in to staring at stars lol!

Anyone else do it?

did you catch the Perseid Meteor showers two weeks ago? Very awesome--happens in February and August.
Ah I wanted to catch that one, but staying up till after mid-night is just darn near impossible for me.

We used to live out in the desert where the night-time visibility was excellent, and my husband was very involved in Astronomy (had a very nice telescope set-up) - he worked at JPL for about 9yrs. and had some great photos of outer space.

But yes, ever since I've been a young girl, I'd go outside and watch the stars - sometimes I'd just take a blanket and put it down on the grass and watch them.

So peaceful <sigh>

I love doing that, thankfully I live somewhere where there is little light pollution, so when it isnt cloudy I love going outside and just staring up for a while. I used to camp out on the trampoline when i was younger, look at the stars and the Northern Lights sometimes too, it was awesome and so peaceful.

Lol ya it is really peaceful, I couldn't do it when I lived in town but now there are no lights at all out here and I can see everything perfectly.

That's one thing I love about this house. My husband and I sit out for at least few minutes everynight looking at the stars! Sometimes he'll get out the telescope and check out the planets, not long ago we could see both venus and mars in great detail.

I love stargazing too. Unfortunately I do live in a city now, so I'm limited in what I can see, but I always try to catch the meteor showers, or any other special heavenly events.
I watched the International Space Station go over, too.

And when we lived in Iceland, I'd always go out and stare at the Northern Lights too. They are awesome to watch.

It's the reason we don't use the master bedroom in our house as OUR room... The room we use has access right onto the roof. Perfect for watching the stars.

My son and I like to lay out on a blanket in the yard to stargaze. We saw a lot of good meteors during the shower.

We went to a stargazing class at the park and actually got to view the rings on Saturn and a lot of other cool celestial bodies.

we like to check out the night skies occasionally, the other year we tried to catch a meteor shower but didn't see anything but planes and some UFO's spooky lol!
