Hello.

I was wondering if anyone knew a good place that spayed Holland Lops in Toronto? If so how long does it take? How much would it cost? Any information would be great.

Thanks,

This might help...go to this link and it gives alisting of vet clinics in Ontario that have either been recommended by rabbit owners, or the vets agreed to have their name sposted:

Cost will vary from clinic to clinic, I'm sure...so you would have to call around to find out prices. You could also ask which vets have had the most experience spaying/neutering rabbits.

There is also this list that was made up by members of this forum:

A lot of those places are located outside of Toronto. I have checked that page still nothing to my liking. Does anyone have experiances with spaying their rabbits? If they are from different litters and they are not fixed i hear that the fight for space? This is why i would like to find a savvy vet to do the spaying so that dont fight. Can anyone share their experiances with us?

Thanks,

Even if they are from the same litter, they can still fight. Rabbits don't care who they're related to or not. ;)

Spaying can prevent it, but not always. Anyone who has 2 bunnies should always be prepared to separate them permanently if things don't workout. Even if they get along now, there is no guarentee they will in the future once they hit the 'teen stage' (any where from 5 months to a year but can happen sooner and last longer but it normally starts between that age frame). That being said, female/female pairs are quite common, some may just take a lot of time but it really depends on the personality of the individual rabbits. You may have 2 rabbits that hate each other but you might be able to easily bond one ot a different rabbit because their personalities are a good match.

I have 2 males and 2 females, one of my males gets on awesome with one of my does and the doe gets on great with him. My other buck on the other hand, he hates the same doe and that doe has been known to attack me for smelling like him. See what I mean by some rabbits just clash?

But yes, spaying is definitely a good thing. Not only can it help prevent fighting (but not guarenteed to), it also has lots of health benefits!
