I know prices are different everywhere but I was wondering what you guys paid to get your rabbits fixed? I've only checked with one reliable vet in my area and they want almost $300! I don't know if that's in the average price range but I definitely can't afford that right now! I've been putting away money but it's a slow process..

We have paid between $175-$260 for a neuter, depending on the vet we go to, and $280-$370 for a spay, and with the one we had it done on, an additional $125 for bloodwork. So that's right about average.

Call around to a couple different rabbit savvy vets in the area, sometimes there can be huge differences in price, just MAKE SURE they are rabbit savvy.

I went to the only good vet in the area where we bring them for check ups. They wanted $350 a bun!!! I have two sisters!! No way was I paying 700 for that. Well I would have but I found a great alternative. I live in Minnesota and they have something called MNSNAP. Minnesota spay neuter something something.

Two females. $50 a bun. I would check for things within your state for something similar. They are doing good as they were just spayed yesterday.

Often a good way to find a lower cost option is to contact any rabbit rescues in your area. The vets they work with are typically lower priced and, if they do a lot of rabbits for a rescue, they are usually very experienced.

Thanks so much guys :) missyscove, I love your avatar! Soo adorable! It reminds me of the top hat I made for my Lilly bun out of cardboard and a toilet paper roll. I had tears from laughing so hard when I put it on her! She was very tolerant too. :p

We paid $220 for a neuter and $320 for a spay. Those costs included all the take home meds plus an overnight stay for the boy and a two night stay for our girl. It'll depend on your area--if you're near a major city, it's going to be more than a rural area. I'm near DC. It was a lot, but I really trusted the vet who did it and I wanted to make sure we got the best care for them.

I don't know how old you are or your financial situation, but if you could save $50/month, you would have enough in 6 months.

Hello,

I paid $94 for a neuter a few months ago. So, I guess it does vary greatly. Having my new one spayed in two weeks and they estimated that at $135.

Thanks
Alice

I think that I paid around $300 for each of my girls. The drive to the vet takes over 1 hr each way. It was worth it though. Sometimes you have to be willing to travel for a good vet at a resonable cost.
