Thanks bassetluv, she was indeed a gorgeous girl. I rescued her from a run down farm where she was lived in a hutch that was too small, had no bedding and was standing on what looked like months of dirt, she had no food in the cage and was very thin. Her owner told me she was in such poor condition because she didn't cope with winter very well! He was surprised when I asked if I could buy her (I was planning on stealing her if he said no, he he!).Unfortunately she had suffered lung damage from the ammonia, and her feet had large open sores from standing in the dirty cage. Her feet soon healed and she started to put on weight, but her breathing was always troubled and I was told the damage done was irreversible. On top of the neglect she had suffered, she was 8 years old, so I didn't expect to have her long. I'm just glad I was able to give her peace, love and comfort at the end of her life!
And thank you! I do some freelance work at the moment, just small commissions and such (although a big advertising company bought rights to one of my photos for such a large amount of money I nearly fainted, that's been my biggest success so far!) and I am going to uni in September to do photography. I plan on specializing in Equine photography, but I would certainly like to do pets too, they're so much fun!
