Wilbur has been sneezing lately and I'm kind of concerned with it. He has no runny eyes or runny nose, just sneezing. He's also eating & acting normally. I don't know if I'm just being a worry wort or what.

Well we just moved into a new place last week so that is possible. The place was empty for a few weeks too. I wonder ifI should stop using the diamond soft bedding, it isn't where he can get at it his litter pan has a wire grate over it. I stopped using the bedding with my rats, because it was super dusty. We don't use any cleaning chemicals either just vinegar/water mix or soap and water. We moved out in the country so maybe it's a bit more dusty here.

It might be the new place. Im not familiar with Diamond bedding, what is it made out of? Carefresh and Yesterdays News are both great for something less dusty (YN is much cheaper and works better though).

Also, try sifting out his hay and food, that might also help.

I will give him some time then, maybe it's just the new place. The diamond soft is by harlan, it's just like carefresh, but white and chopped up. I usually use alpha dri, but I wanted to use this bedding up since I can't use it with my ratties. I plan on trying paperchip soon, it's just like yesterday news. Thanks for the tips I will try sifting the food too :)

This morning I noticed he has a little snot coming out of one nostril now :( This sucks why do pets all have problems all at once. I have some rats with health problems right now too.

Could you try vacuuming everything and using an air purifier? Maybe that would help.

If you can't find anything that reduces the sneezing and runny nose, you may have to take him to a vet just in case. But IMO you'll probably be better off trying to reduce dust and allergens first.

Could be allergies, could also be a cold bug. Feel his ears and see if they are warmer then usually. If so he could have a fever, in which case senario you will need to see a rabbit-savy vet. Could try giving him some terrimycin by mixing it with his food or water. If it is a bacteria then you will notice improvements within 48 hours if you try the terrimycin. It won't hurt him even if he isn't sick if you follow directions on it. Can purchase it at any feed store. Could be allergies though.

According to Island gems.com the proper dosage is 1/4 a teaspoon to 32 ounces of water. Make sure that the terramycin you are using is the 'terraymycin[size="-1"] Soluble Powder'. Not anyother type as those will need different dosage levels. Nogarentee that this will help, and I'm not a vet so legally I can't tellyou what to do, but this is one thing I try if my rabbits are actingsick, especially if they seem to have an infection of sorts andpossibly a fever. Still consult a rabbit-savy vet and get their opinionif you can. Good luck.

Thank you for the info he hasn't had the terramycin for a full day yet and I can already tell he's getting better. He's hardly sneezing now which is great. Now for the rats I had to the change the water everyday and keep it away from light should I do that with him also?
My regular vet was honest with me she mainly knows how to do spays and netuers and clip their teeth and nails. I do have a couple I found I can go to though.

Thanks for all your help, you guys rock :)

Yes I would change the water every day, don't know anything bout the light but can't hurt I guess. Good to here the rabbits feeling better.

Just thought I'd post this for a little reassurance. Yesterday Snuffles was grooming and out of nowhere he starts sneezing in quick, rapid succession. My husband actually got up and went over to him to get him to calm down. He had to have had a hair in his nose. It is scary when they do that, but he's just fine. He must have sneezed 20 times at least:shock:. Poor baby. What' scary about it is that they sneeze so fast that it seems like they can'tget a breath in while this is going on.

Usually for mine, that's all it is, a hair in their nose or dust from pellets. Just so others know. If there's no discharge, don't worry about it too much.:D
