Sneezing (thymoma found as cause)

Hello everyone,

So my female bunny started sneezing. 3 days ago she had a sneezing fit (like 10-20 sneezing in a row) and after that 1 every 2 hours. She sneezes very loudly (and strangley she emits this same sound when yawning). After this day for 2 days she only sneezed like 2 3 times per day. Now today again she had a little sneezing fit like 3-4 in a row and again we are up to 8 sneezes for this day.

Her nose part is clean (When I hear the sneeze I ran to her immediatley but nothing wet around the nose), paws are ok. When she sneezes she doesn't seem to care, so she is not even trying to wash her nose.

Most of the time the sneezing happens when she sleeps.

Also she has a male companion, he is fine.

Should I worry?

Are you using a new bag of hay, pellets, or a new litter, that could be dusty? Any new cleaning products used around your rabbit, or maybe really dusty or smoky at all in the environment lately? Any eye discharge? You may not be seeing the nasal discharge if she's wiping it away. Check the insides of her front paws for crusty fur.

Nothing new was introduced. Samenberger hay was the newest thing that I have introduced like 3-4 months ago.
Non smoking environment.

Eye discharge only the right eye, but that has been for more like half a year. Visited the exotic vet numerous times (and 2 of them actually) and they didn't seem to care. Like teeths are ok, no blockage in the tear duct (they used a liquid which they droped on her eye and then it came out through her nose.)

I checked her paw, nothing there. Also she doesn't even seem to clean her nose/face when she sneezes. (They are next to me most of the time, so I can quickly turn my head to check what happens after sneezing)

I would just check her environment, make sure there isn't anything too dusty. If it keeps up and you're concerned, maybe your vet could take a look up her nose with an otoscope, to make sure there isn't a bit of hay or something stuck up there, and also make sure there are no signs of white mucous(sign of infection). If that is all clear, but your rabbit continues to sneeze excessively, it's possible it could be allergies. It's not common with rabbits, but it can happen. If you have Piriton childrens syrup(chlorphenamine maleate) available in your country,, that's been used to treat allergies in rabbits.

I vacuum clean their place every morning as a routine.

Im in no position right now to take her to the vet. For like 4 - 5days.
My partner is having a surgery and my buns tend to have gut stasis after vet visit. So I would only take her if its an emergency.

I would suggest keeping a close eye on her. Check her nose every day checking for discharge and if she starts to cough, tilt her head, has loud breathing, discharge coming from her eye and there's white, green, or yellow discharge coming out of her nose take her to the vet she may have Pasteurellosis (sniffles). It could be fatal (it's what killed my sweet 6-month-old bunny last week) in that case keep your male bunny away bc he could get it too. If it's not Pasteurellosis check her nose she might have something stuck in it. If she has Pasteurellosis and you can't take her to the vet GIve her LA200 injections (0.1 ml per lb), Add apple cider vinegar and VetRX (for rabbits) to her water, and make sure she gets her probiotics, is eating lots of lettuce, and has lots of clean water

So she had another sneezing fit today. It lasted for like 1-2 minutes. No discharge from the nose.

So looks like the sneezing has stopped (knock on wood). However I noticed then whenever she is laying on the floor with her head directly on the floor some saliva is left behind when she gets up.

I have an appointment for Aug 17, which is a bit far away. I don't know. Should I be concerned?

If she's just drooling a little while she sleeps, I wouldn't be concerned as drooling a little while sleeping can be fairly normal, not just in rabbits But if it's happening more frequently, when she's up and hopping about too, then there could be an underlying problem causing it, like a dental issue. As long as she's eating and behaving normally, and you don't see a worsening of symptoms, I would think it will be alright until her appointment. But if anything happens before then, and/or you have any concerns, contact your vet.

Just watch her and make sure she's not producing anything. Check her paws (suggested by my vet when I was waiting for Shen's appointment when he was around). Because, as you would see, she cleans herself after sneezing. So definitely check. If nothing on her paws, nose/eyes/mouth, she should be good to wait for the vet appointment. Yeah. That's sneezing. My Holland Lop, Tu'er Shen, used to have sneezing fits. But since he wasn't producing any discharge, he was safe to wait for his vet appointment. He was given antibiotics, which helped a lot. So did making sure he didn't accidentally get a piece of hay stuck up his nose (that happened to him when the sneezing fits began for him). By weird noise (I can't have my headphones on right now because of training for work), what do you mean? Like when she suddenly shakes her head in a sneezing motion? Or when she's breathing, no sneezing?

I mean the sound you can hear in this video. It's so loud that we woke up in the bedroom to it.
Normally when she is around she doesn't make any weird noise when breathing.

Im angry a bit that I have filed a request for appointment like in the beginning of august, stating this sneezing stuff, and this was the closest time they could give (I mean im not angry at the hospital, more at the situtation that they are so overbooked)

They're probably very busy. Do you have a high pollen count right now in your area?

Yes, fungus, hemp, and ragweed. Fungus is high, 2 others are at medium.

Also she has a male companion Rabbit and he is totally ok.

I'm worried about her, but I also don't want to stress her just by rushing to the hospital because with unexepcted visits you are to wait like 5+ hours.
