Idon't really agree with that. I will influence peopleas much as I possibly can. If I step over the line,I in no way see a comparison between overstepping boundaries andtearing the flesh off a live animal.
I respect that. Influence is what makes this world as challenging as it is.

But let's speak religiously for a moment. If I were Christianand you were of some other belief, would you break into my home andburn my Bible?

This is where the difference lies. It is one thing to protest anddemonstrate peacefully, and a completely different thing to break thelaw - breaking and entering, vandalism, theft, harassment, VIOLENCE...I just think you could look at any group (PETA not excluded) and findmany people who believe so strongly that they are right that they mightbe compelled to go too far and demonstrate a lack of respect that willin the long run gain them nothing but the same lack of respect inreturn.

I would never tell you or anyone else what to do or how to live, and Iam certainly not telling you that you are wrong by any means.I am simply saying that I don't appreciate when anyone tries to takethe freedom of choice away from another. No one person is more fit thananother to determine what is right/wrong, moral/objectionable, etc.

I just do what I believe is right, and you do as well. And that is okay, isn't it?

Lissa, I just want to make sure that you knowthat nothing was pointed directly at you. It is never my intention tooffend anybody, personally.

Please know that I respect your views and your right to have them, and I would be a hypocrite if I didn't.

I was going to get chickens a few years back as pets but myfriend said that they attract rats, raccoons and other things that Idon't want. I can't remember where I heard this, but someone said thatthere's a breed of chickens that produce green eggs are are veryhealthy?

I have raised chickens for something like 12 years, and yes, you willget predators attracted to them, but if your rabbits are out side thehouse (like mine in the barn) they could attract predators too. Itpartly depends on where you live and how clean you keep them. I havenever had a rat problem personally. And yes, there are chickens thatlay green eggs, and even some ducks that do, but their eggs aren't anyhealthier than any other. That is an old wives tale.
I also hate how factory chickens are raised, but until the majority ofconsumers refuses to buy anything but organic/free range eggs and meat,it will continue. I think the main reason a lot of people don't buyorganic is because it is so expensive. The reason it is so expensive isbecause it not only costs more to raise birds this way, you lose morebirds to things like disease because you can't use antibiotics or anymeds that are not herbal or all natural.
I hate the thought of cows being constantly impregnated and the calfsbeing slaughtered too,(I say "thought of" because I don't know muchabout the industry) but, again, the alternatives are slim. How would itbe possible to meet the demand other wise? There are simply not enoughcattle, or space in which to keep that many cattle, to meet the demandof consumers. And how long would it be before half of the people thatare saying they want better treatment for animals would be complainingabout the milk shortage?
I think there are a lot of sad things in this world, and that doesn'tmean we shouldn't try to change them, but no matter what, there willalways be sad things in the world.
