Early this morning my dog escaped from her yard(which she has never done) and was found running around Lilly's cagebarking at her. My mum locked the dog back up and Lilly seemed finewhen she checked her. She looked fine when i fed her this morning butIm still worried.

What chance is there that Lilly could die of shock?

The same thing happened to Cosmo the otherday. Usually I am very good about leaving me door shut, butone time I left it open just a crack. Kaycee, my crazystandard poodle, squeezed her way in and was running all around thecage terrorizing Cosmo! I quickly got the dog out and Cosmothumped a couple times and was breathing a little heavily, butotherwise he was ok.

I would say that if your bun is eating, drinking, pooping, and peeing, she should be ok. I've heard that it is continuous stressover a long amount of time that can really be fatal torabbits. Is Lilly acting any different? Maybe giveher a little time by herself and try to make sure that it doesn'thappen again....

I know how you feel...I felt like such a bad mommy for letting my poochscare the heck out of my little boy! Good luck and let meknow how everything goes.

Hi becc,

I agree with Vanessa, as long as Lilly's eating, pooping and drinkingand has her peaceful environment back, she should be calming down.

It's true that continuous stress can cause problems for their heart. It sounds like your mom got there fast enough.

I would keep her quiet, check on her, talk to her and pet her and she'll be fine.

It happened at 3am this morning so im lucky my mum heard maddi barking, i slept through the whole lot and now i feel bad.

Hopefully she'll be fine. Ill keep you all posted on how she is when i get home.

When Bo gets all wigged out about us trimming hisnails or whatever, I always cuddle him and pet him and mainly rub hisears and cheeks. He always purrs softly when he's calmed andI do this.

He's used to the dog barking and loud noise (kids and hubby) so I am very lucky there.

Bunnies purr in a couple of ways. Bothinvolve their teeth. One way is that they just softly grindthem a bit. The other I have heard Bo only do one or twotimes; they do this rapid clicking really soft with the back teeth (Ithink ... it sounds like the back ones lol)

I love when he purrs cause i know he's happy! :)

Got home earlier just allowed online not sposed 2be on here "homework time". Lilly's fine this arvo and im happy. Illtalk 2 u all when im allowed on here! :p

Glad to hear your baby is recovering from the shock Becc.

My bunnies also purr by snapping the back teeth together lightly, I wasalways worried that they were in pain because I'd heard that they grindtheir teeth when in pain, however, since coming on here regularly andbecoming more clued up on bunnies I worked out that the teethchattering was a sign of pleasure.

I really have never heard Cosmo purr, but he doeslook like he's chewing something whenever I pet his head. so,i guess that means he's pleased. And it seems like hispleasure is all I'm living for these days...anyone else feel thatway? haha

Isn't that our mission in life? to make our bunnies happy? :p

It's a conspiracy you know...... they are so cute and all work togetherthrough esp to make us want to please them so they can one day takeover the world!

~~ Or, I just have a soft spot for a cute little fuzzy butt!

I guess my mission in life is to now keep Lillyhappy lol.

Bad news today, my step sister lost a baby. She was havin twins (eachin separate sacs) and lost her baby girl. They named her LillieGabrielle. Now whenever I see Lilly I get upset :( Oh well life goeson. And the little boy is apparently healthy so hopefully all goes well.

Sorry that was o/t carolyn but you are all like my family now and I needed to tell you all.
