I was wondering if anyone has put rain booties on their dogs? does your dog like them?
Wow is there a return policy on it?Now, isn't it funny that I come here and read this. I had ordered (what I thought was) a set of dog boots for Kaya from Therapaw. However, I goofed on the order, and had ordered one boot instead of one set (I guess they only sell them individually, and I had assumed I was getting a set of four...which would explain why the cost seemed rather low).
So the one boot arrived today (to my disappointment...now Kaya's gonna have to learn to walk on one foot...lol). But what I'm really shocked at is the cost. It was $21.00 for the boot...pricier than most, but fair enough for boots of this quality...but omigosh, I was charged $22.00 for shipping...and the price that they actually paid to send it - stamped on the outside of the shipping envelope - was $1.62!!! Geez. :grumpy:
Anyway, after that complaint (sorry, got off track), yes, I do use boots for my dog. But I've had such problems keeping them on her feet! I've tried everything from cheap rubber weird-looking things held on with rubber bands, to the Canadian "Muttluks", which are pretty high-quality. And the Muttluks were the closest I came to satisfaction...but still they would come off Kaya's feet in the wintertime. So I've just now put this Therapaw boot on her and had to laugh. I shot a little video clip of her wearing it - trying to capture her full humiliation, of course - but have to wait for my camera to recharge before I can see if it turned out. Kaya hates anything put on her feet...always has. In fact when I first got her, she would bite if you dared even touch her toes. Anyway, my point is that even with Kaya, I managed to get her used to wearing boots. She will always hate putting them on and will run away and hide if she sees me holding a pair, but once on her feet she accepts them. If you want to get your dog used to them, put them on him/her for a few minutes every day to wear around the house. Eventually even the worst boot-haters will give in, at least somewhat. It's funny to see them high-stepping when they're not used to them, but they should stop doing it once they are taken for a walk, or have had them on for a while.
