My white rabbit (with lop ears) which I think is a new zealand white

Snowy1.jpg

He has this problem in that when you hold him you get absolutly coveredin hairs. And you can just take plenty of hairs by drawing your handthrough his fur. Is this normal for such a rabibt? He has thick whitefur about an inch long.

I have tried grooming his loose hairsout and washing him but nothing seems to stop the constant shed of hairs.

Is he big? Are his eyes blue? He's nota New Zealand (they have pink eyes). But helooks to have the coat and size of a Beveren. They also carrytheir ears apart in the shape of a "V", where the New Zealand has it'sears closer together.

The fur and body shape of the Beveren are very different from that of the New Zealand.

Constant shedding can be due to any number of factorssuchastoo much protein in the diet, parasites, illness, age, genetics, etc. I'd start by having a fecal float (stoolcheck) done for parasites and determine if the protein in his diet istoo high.

And apparently I'm blind LOL I missedthe part that the rabbit had "lop ears". Although I have seenBeveren's ears lop down, yours is probably a mini or hollandlop. How big is he?
