I have had 2 litters of bunnies this year. In the first litter 1 buck's ears ended up flopping over on the ends. In the second litter there are 2 babies who's ears are doing this. The other babies ears all stood straight up like they should. These are purebred Flemish Giants. I am wondering if this is just normal growth, vitamin deficiency, genetic defect, I have no idea what it may be!
here is a picture flemish ear flop any words of wisdom?

I think those ears are SO adorable :D Maybe they just inherited the super-cutie gene.

I agree that you might get more response in the Rabbitry because we do have some giant breeders around (not that the breeders are giant, just that they breed giant rabbits :p).

Hopefully a mod will see this and move it for you.

Looks like summer ear. In warmer weather the ears will soften with increased blood flow which causes the ears to droop and, in more severe cases, lop. Its really common with young rabbits. Particularly those kept outdoors or in warm environments.

But don't worry, come winter time those ears pop right back up.

Sometimes steady, warm temperatures can cause "bell ears". Other causes can be vitamin deficiency or lack of substance to the ear (ears that are too thin).

In some cases, the problem corrects itself as the rabbit gets older.
