My rabbit stopped eating hay about three days ago, he still eats his pellets and greens but not his hay. It wasn't a new type of hay, and it was part way into his latest bag (so not just opened). I haven't changed the amount of pellets or greens I give him either. He is pooping normally, thinking he might have tummy troubles I've been giving him a little dill and mint to help but he still hardly touches his hay at all.

Should I try a different type? Should I decrease his pellets/greens to prompt him to eat more hay? advice?

How long have you had your bun and how old is he? And no changes at all to diet? Nothing new added, a new bag started, nothing increased? How much pellets do you feed and how much does he weigh?

First make sure the hay hasn't gone bad/moldy (sour or musty smell, white/black spots or white dust, damp) This is particularly important if you live in a humid environment. If the hay is fine, I would try a different hay like orchard, meadow, or oat. If he still won't eat the hay, the most common cause of a rabbit selectively eating when the food hasn't changed or gone bad, or because other foods were increased, is due to dental problems causing pain from chewing certain foods.

Turned out he didn't like the hanging bag I started feeding him hay with over a month ago he just decided he didn't like it anymore. I tried putting hay just out in his litterbox for him out of the feed bag and he ate it up, so strange but I'm just glad he is eating his hay again.

Glad you solved it. Our bunnies can be such picky little things sometimes.
