Rabbit doesn’t like being pet anymore

Hello!

I have a 6 month old holland lop male rabbit that won’t let me pet him anymore (it’s been like this for 2 weeks now). He used to LOVE being pet and would beg you for pets every time you came up to him, but now he will run off every time you try to gently pet him.

He hasn’t been neutered yet (he is going to get neutered in a couple weeks), will he enjoy being pet again once he is neutered? Or will he be like this forever? Thanks

Typical hormonal behavior. Don't worry. Neutering can prevent hormonal behaviors from becoming ingrained. Bear in mind that it can take several weeks after the surgery for those hormones to dissipate fully.

That said, also know that the behavior of baby rabbits can be very different from their adult personalities. While babies can be docile and handle-able, adults seldom are. You'll be seeing your buns true personality several weeks after surgery. Just do the usual bonding routine:

Sounds like hormonal behavior to me too. He just has something else on his mind right now, animals get that way! Neutering should really help! It could take up to 2 months for hormones to fully go down after getting fixed, it's tough, so do your best to just wait it out and he'll come back around!
