Hey,

So my rabbit Bobby is a Netherland Dwarf who's 9 years old, so quite an old rabbit. He got a cherry eye about a year ago and since then has had one or two minor health scares, once his teeth were too long so he stopped eating and then he had some digestive issues, but he has since recovered fully. My dilemma is this, his cherry eye does seem uncomfortable, as in he tries to scratch it and it sometimes oozes a bit (we were prescribed steroids and antibiotics I believe, but they didn't do much) but he is quite an old rabbit. I don't know if it is worth the risk of doing surgery under anaesthesia, but then again, I don't want him to be uncomfortable with this eye for the rest of his life. Also, it could potentially get worse, though it has stayed relatively constant this past year so maybe that's not that likely.

Overall, I'm just at a crossroads and I can't decide what's the best course of action. Does anyone have any advice? It would be really appreciated!

I would definitely go for the surgery BUT go to a good rabbit vet. Find one here: Rabbit Friendly Vet List
