Measurement not critical at all. It is not rocket science. I use, roughly, a teaspoon toa tablespoon per gallon of mixture by just pouring and eyeballing. For some reason, people "demand" an exact measurement so I mention the above and do it the way I do it, anyway.
I mix it by the gallon so I do not have to reformulate every time I add water to the herd's bottles. If you're only providing for Lucy, a drop or three in her water bottle should be sufficient.
It is primarily used to reduce the probability of fly strike, which is less for indoor rabbits anyway, but doesn't hurt as a preventive measure by all means.
I don't bother to do it in the winter, but will reintroduce the practice when I begin to notice the presence of flies in and about the hutches and poops on the ground.
