I have a rabbit and having a bad problem from what they look to be fruit flies or gnats.

This has been going on for months.

I clean the cage good, change all the bedding, and clean the water bowl.

The next day, there are these flies in the cage all over again.

Is the rabbit poop creating them?
I had several rabbits before and never had this problem.

I had sprayed for them, put containers with vinegar and soap to attract them, which they go in there as well.

These flies are getting all over the house, including the kitchen.

I have also cleaned and disinfected all the kitchen surfaces. I have no fruits on the kitchen counter or vegetables.

I have also sprayed pesticides down the kitchen sink drain.

Is getting bad, and I don't know what to do anymore.

What is causing this?
How can I solve this problem?

If they are gnats they come from moisture, check around their water bowl for spills or any little spots with wet hay or food and make sure your rabbit isn't peeing anywhere you don't know.
I would do a big clean of the pen checking every corner for any moisture, making sure no hay, toys or blankets are wet, completely disinfect all dishes and the litter box.
And if you have plants they can come from over watering, they love any mold/fungus.

For fruit flies they love your drains and are hard to get rid of so you will need to continuously dump something that kills them down the drain, I've been told just boiling water and dumping it down the drain 2 times a day for a week or so can work.

Thank you for posting. I can see some changes you could try to make to (hopefully) help out with the issue.

I would start with changing to either wood pellets or recycled paper pellets for litter. Pellets (as opposed to shavings or shredded paper) are much more absorbent. But it isn't just the switch to such pellets, but also how they are setup and used. That will be key to seeing a significant change in results.

The pic here shows what these pellets look like. Good news-- they are considerably cheaper than other pet store litters.

And this link goes into more detail on how to setup a litterbox to your best advantage.

Another possible change would be to the overall setup itself--- making better use of your existing cage. This next link explains what I mean. Near the bottom of that page, you'll see a cage that looks very much like yours but the owner (from this forum) made use of an exercise pen along with that cage to create a new, more appropriate size space. You can see that here:

Those suggested changes will make cleanup much easier for you. It will be less expensive, and I'm sure your bunny will like it too!
