You remain in my thoughts, Peg. I'm so sorry for your losses and hope the cause can be determined quickly so you don't have to lose any more.

Binky-free Miss Bea
So very sorry for your loss, Peg.
It does sound like she wanted to be with her two best friends.

What a sad day.

Just something to think about: I have heard of mites being present in hay at times. Also, a genetic susceptibility to the mites like pamnock may be a factor (if Brave Lil Injun was also related to Miss Bea).

big hugs, and I hope you now have the issue under control

The ONLY thing the three had in common is the food - and we'd just started new bags two or three days ago.

Feed is often blamed, but not often the cause of illness/death in rabbits.

Viral illness is also a consideration, especially at this time of year. Some individuals may be more susceptible than others. For example, certain blood types may lack the ability to form antibodies against particular viruses. Type O humans are more susceptible to certain stomach viruses. My daughter is type O and the "flu" generally means a trip to the hospital for her. Even with the flu shot, she still gets a milder version.

Heart disease is also a common inherited cause of death in rabbits.

Oh my, I am so sorry Peg! I have not lost a rabbit since Candy and I as so depressed for so long after that. This with Z has got me down but if I lost him I might go mad. Keep strong for the others :cry2

Oh Peg, my heart goes out to you. I can hardly believe that we've lost Miss Bea - I thought she'd be here forever - too much of a Diva to leave us :(. And with the loss of the other two, I can't even imagine how you are feeling.

God Bless, Miss Bea. You go and snuggle with Tiny and New Hope, and keep an eye on your Mom - she loved you so much :(

I am so sorry. I can't imagine what you are going through. You will be in my thoughts.

How horrible...I can't believe this...

I wouldn't venture to say that I know what you're going through. The truth of the matter is that everyone's experiences are their own...and everyone's losses are different. Just know that my heart aches for you and your family.

Hugs to you...

I am just now seeing this and I do not know what to say. I am in absolute shock. Having known Miss B personally (and Tiny)....this one hits me again. I can't imagine what you are going through.

Hi again everyone. I appreciate all of your posts and words of comfort.

I want to share something that I've been thinking about.

We're not sure what caused Miss Bea's death - along with MBeason & Brave Lil Injun. Miss Bea ate all her supper the night before - she had her normal banana and carrot earlier in the day...and there were not really many signs that she was ill until about 12 hours before she died (when I wanted to put her outside for some playtime on the porch). She was rather tired and didn't want to play - BUT - it was her normal naptime and I didn't think much of it as she did hop around a bit - but seemed relieved to go back in her cage after 15 minutes or so. She just seemed like she wanted to nap - and most of the bunnies in the rabbitry were sleeping around then too.

Since we aren't going to glean more information about why she might've passed....and since I've started a thread for her on Rainbow Bridge...I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread.

Some of you may wonder why I'm locking it - but the fact is - every time that someone replies with their condolances (which are appreciated) - it bumps this thread up to the top and it may mean that a thread for a bunny that can be helped gets missed. I don't want that to happen - I want the bunnies that are still with us to get all the help they need.

I hope to post Miss Bea's stories in her Rainbow Bridge thread later this week - so please feel free to stop there and celebrate her life with me. I'll have pictures and stories...I'll even share about the time she locked Tiny in her cage....little stinker that she was!

In the meantime - thanks for your friendship and your love and your support. It means more to me than you'll ever know.
