Well seeing as things with Oli didn't work out I thought I'd update you guys on my new loaned horse. Lucky for me my lovely yard manager knew a horse who was being put on loan because his owner doesn't have time for him, so sheorganised for him to be brought to my stables for me to trial. Well I have spent the last few days taking care of him, riding him and generally fussing over him and have fallen in love - he is sooo sweet and friendly and a gem to ride (although a little fat from all the summer grass.;)) Anyway enough with the chat - on with the pictures!

My pretty boy!

Thanks, he's a doll!:inlove:

Hopntailrabbitry - He's a bit of a mix. Apparently he has some thoroughbred in him and he looks a lot like an Irish draught so I wouldn't be surprised if he was part Irish draught as well. He is quite a big horse, although once he starts getting his grass restricted and is ridden more he should slim down a bit and become fitter, he has a bit of 'summer weight' on at the moment.;)

He is once of the friendliest horses I've ever met though, one of the reasons he is in the first stable you pass as you walk into the yard - so he can see everyone!:biggrin2:

I didn't realise there was a thread!! Sorry Jess! :blushan:

He's so beautiful!:bunnyheart (Had his picture stuck on my computer yesterday when it froze after you sent it to me )

Lol, naughty Michaela!:nope: Do we have to take this outside?:boxing:raspberry:

Thanks, I had to laugh about it freezing, well at least you got to look at his beautiful face a bit longer.;):p

Thanks guys.:DI've just been out riding him and he is such a doll, he didn't spook at anything (even when cantering past sheep!;)) and jumped everything I asked him.

He is such an angel - I'm so glad I found him!:)

YAY!! He's gorgeous! Now we need some great pictures of you riding. Congratulations on finding the right guy for you.

But.. when you say he's on load, does that mean that you will have to give him back?

Lol Ellissian - I think Smokey is sucha weired name for a horse!:shock:His owner said he was supposed to be called Jeano, but the guy who bred him started calling him Smokey, so by the time he wasa few months old he thought that was his name so it stuck!:D

Thanks Nadia - don't worry I will get lots of pictures of him, although he may have the odd grass stain on his side.;) Gray horses are so hard to keep clean!:p

Well, basically his owner doesn't have time for him but she is too in love with him to sell him, so Ihave himon a loan agreement for a year (I think ) which I will probably renew afterwards to keep on loaning him. Works well for me though because I get all the perks of being a horse owner for half the cost!:pI may have to give him back but not for a while (at least a year) and I doubt even then as his owner's little boy is allergic to horses so she can't be around them too much. I will probably give him back in a couple of years anyway though as I will be going to Uni so the arrangement works pretty well for me.:)
