Sorry guys, just came home. Thanks for the prayers and sorry for worrying you.

Well...the puffiness was...an infected rat bite. I guess they bullied him through the bars. My fault for not protecting him and I feel so bad about it. The doctor told me to continue with the Baytril, discontinue the painkillers and added on Metacam. Should get better soon with it.

Bad news is...I told the doctor he wasn't peeing...he pressed on the bladder and it was full, had to force it out. His stomach is a little gassy. Heartbeat was too fast and overall not good. We did an overall x-ray...he has something. Might be an abscess, might be a tumor, we don't know yet. I couldn't afford the ultrasound so we took a blood sample. The hospital should get the results tomorrow and if it's bad, the doctor says he'll have them fax it to him and he'll call me. If it's a "i don't know yet" then I'm going in on Monday for an ultrasound then. Along with the Metacam he added on aminophylline to help with his breathing a little.

I'm scared.

Ohhh, I'm hoping for the best on the results! Come on, Bobby! Poor baby. Does he seem to be feeling better from the Metacam at all yet? I'm so sorry you all are going through this, especially Bobby :(

But the good thing is, I found a WONDERFUL vet in the process who is VERY knowledgeable about pets. Dr. Bruce Levine at the Huntington Beach Veterinary Hospital has now got me as a dedicated customer, at least for the ratties. They don't take Care Credit so I'll still go somewhere that does for the other animals...maybe...maybe not. The receptionist crew are a little discouraging. One has a chihuahua and the other has no animals, neither seem to show any real love for animals. More of a..this is just a job that's relatively easy but don't really care about. The crew that actually handles the animals are great though. I'd be willing to try out the other vets that work there too. The prices are actually reasonable.

He's very lethargic who has to be prompted to eat and drink :? No good news yet. But I would be lethargic too if people kept poking me with needles, sticking me in x-ray machines and forcing meds down my throat.

What an adorable little boy! I am adding my prayers that Bobby makes a full recovery, sweet little guy. Am praying for the best for him.

The doctor called. According to the results..it's most likely a tumor. Ultrasound on Monday it is.

He goes in at 2pm on Monday. That'll give me all morning to go to banks and get money together. My job interview will be hopefully be rescheduled. If an animal hospital can't reschedule my job interview because my rat possibly has a tumor, I wouldn't want to work for them anyway. Thanks you guys for your kind words and prayers. He's eating applesauce on his own and drinking the pedialyte I have for him. Still not eating/drinking enough to produce waste though..or is like before and just not going. If he doesn't go to the bathroom by tonight I'll call the emergency vet again to see if they could either talk me through emptying his bladder or bring him in. I should've asked Dr. Levine but didn't think about it then. Been sleeping all day, hiding in blankets. He's right next to me in a travel cage at all times. Thanks Rosie, it's really coming in handy.

I'm so happy to hear that the carrier came in handy. :) I knew there'd be a reason for us getting it. :)

I'll continue praying for Bobby...I hope you don't have to take him in tonight, or anything.

C'mon little Bobby Boy...eat that food...give us good poops!!

Despite his trouble breathing, Bobby has become his normal self again. Eating, drinking, pooing, playing. I let him back with his brothers and no trouble at all.

Currently he's still at the vet. I dropped him off 1.5 hours ago. Dr. Levine had a couple other patients before us (we were late) so they had me leave Bobby and go home.

*jeopardy theme song*

Would that be Dr. Bruce Levine? He was Sparky and Scooter's vet when we lived in Huntington Beach. I really, really liked him. Barry is in good hands.
