Well, John's visa runs out at the end of the month. The company brought him over on the wrong visa, and it was just a 6 month one. It still hasn't been re-newed, and we are still waiting (after 2 1/2 years) for the residency to come through.
So, it looks like we are going to have to get out of the country for a few days, then come back in with the new visa. As yet, we don't know when or how long for - which is cutting it pretty close, since the end of August is next week!
And to make matters worse, this morning we got a letter from the Canadian high Commission in London, who are dealing with the residency application. I thought 'great. At last !!!!' I should have known better. They now want some more details (this is the 3rd time they've asked for different details to be sent, after they received them 2 1/2 years ago - and we have to pay to have them processed each time). This time, they want to know everything about me - from May 1981 until May 1998 . Like I say, they already had that when we first applied, and it took weeks for me to remember dates etc then - I've had 21 different jobs, so keeping track is a nightmare.
I phoned John at work to tell him, and he said 'Just do it' :X. Like I have great memory recall or something. I'm beginning to wonder if this move was the right thing to do at all
.
Sorry for venting, but I feel like I want to explode
