Well, John's visa runs out at the end of the month. The company brought him over on the wrong visa, and it was just a 6 month one. It still hasn't been re-newed, and we are still waiting (after 2 1/2 years) for the residency to come through.

So, it looks like we are going to have to get out of the country for a few days, then come back in with the new visa. As yet, we don't know when or how long for - which is cutting it pretty close, since the end of August is next week!

And to make matters worse, this morning we got a letter from the Canadian high Commission in London, who are dealing with the residency application. I thought 'great. At last !!!!' I should have known better. They now want some more details (this is the 3rd time they've asked for different details to be sent, after they received them 2 1/2 years ago - and we have to pay to have them processed each time). This time, they want to know everything about me - from May 1981 until May 1998 . Like I say, they already had that when we first applied, and it took weeks for me to remember dates etc then - I've had 21 different jobs, so keeping track is a nightmare.

I phoned John at work to tell him, and he said 'Just do it' :X. Like I have great memory recall or something. I'm beginning to wonder if this move was the right thing to do at all :(.

Sorry for venting, but I feel like I want to explode :panic:

Jan

Oh no.....as if this move hasn't been hard enough on y'all....

Did you happen to photocopy the documents when you first did them? (Even if you did - I bet it will be hard to find them in all the stuff you moved) - or did his company keep a photocopy of the paperwork by any chance?

I suppose you could come to the US for a short vacation???

My thoughts and prayers are with you.....

Ican't believe your luck. With everything happening to you, you should buy a lottery ticket and win a million dollars. Maybe you could go to Las Vegas for a few days. ;)

I am terrible for memory and dates too. I wouldn't remember very much back 25 years ago. Take everything slowly and piece things in order and don't let the whole thing overwhelm you.

You know if there is anything I can do, Iam here.

Stan

Gosh Jan...you really are having a run of bad luck..I'm so sorry that you have to go through all this...

Thinking of you and hoping that thing's will get better for you soon

Oh my gosh Jan, why is all this happening to you?:(I'm so sorry that you're having to go through all this - you're an incredibly strong person to deal this all this as well as you do.

I'm thinking of you and hoping things take a turn for the better soon.

Thanks for all your words of comfort

Peg - I did make a copy of it, but can I heck as find it? it is probably lost somewhere in the depths of moving :?

I have made a rough outline, but I'm going to have to tell them that dates are approximate. I have a few gaps which I can't really remember at all. The annoying thing is, this is the 3rd time they have asked for details that were originally sent 2 1/2 years ago, so sounds like they have 'misplaced' them. This includes the police reports we had to send, and you have to pay to get those done :X

It may sound like I'm bein strong, but honestly, I'm not! I am almost waiting for the next disaster to happen. I could really use Pernod to snuggle up to - she was always such a comfort when I was feeling down :(.

It MAY be Las vegas, as it is probably the nearest/cheapest option. Hopefully. we will know on Monday the dates we have to be out.

Well, after a week of getting conflicting information, we are off to las Vegas on Tuesday and come back Saturday.

We didn't have to leave by the end of the month, but John isn't allowed to work after today (31st), when the visa expires. So we have to leave the country, with all the paperwork to get new visas, and come back in a few days.

John has worked 12 hour shifts yesterday and today, to make up for the days he will have to lose next week. We have a meeting with his boss and the man arranging things tomorrow, to find out what happens next.

Once again, Stan is my saviour, and is taking Shadow and Jester to his house until we return. Who knows, perhaps his two ladies will fall for my two boys :p!

John and I are pretty stressed this week, what with not knowing until Friday night what was going to happen - we were up until 1 am trying to get booked up in Vegas. I am just hoping that nothing goes wrong, and that they let us back in to Canada on Saturday :?

Jan

Thank you!

We are staying at the Stratosphere - we have stayed there before.

John and I actually got married in Vegas (the 1st time) in 1991 at The Little White Chapel. We got 'properly' married the following year in the UK :)

Jan

Jan I was just thinking about you and John. I sure hope everyting goes well for the two of you.

Now remember when in Vegas to play the Blazing 7 Slots, maybe you'll come back with lots of money.

Good Luck

I didn't go into that one. We stayed at the Monte Carlo. LOVED it!

Things are set for me to pick up Shadow and Jester later tonight. Wehad Cocoa (a friends bunny) for the last 7 days where the family vacationed in Florida (Disney World). We willtake Cocoa home this afternoon, spend the holiday at the inlaws for a BBQ, and pick up Shadow and Jester when we go home this evening.

If Pebbles and Bebe start bonding to Shadow and Jester during their stay, Jan might not get her bunnies back. :whistling

Oh Jan, what another load of stress that you really don't need! :(

I'm sorry you have all this going on... I really hope some good luck comes your way soon- like winning lots of money in Vegas maybe?! ;)

I hope you can try and have some fun on your trip at least- and bless Stan for taking care of the bunnies for you...

Well, my babies have gone to stay with their Uncle Stan and I miss them already :(.
Still, I know they are in great hands, and an added plus was that I got to meet Mrs Pet_Bunny too :) (and she is really nice - she and Stan make a good team :))

So, John and I are off in the morning. John has all the paperwork for our return, and been told all the things that we have to say to immigration when we get back so they let us back in to Canada.

With the luck we've been having, I have a sinking feeling that something will go wrong, and they won't let us back in .

Although, if we win BIG in Vegas, we may be able to buy our way in :D:p.

Anyhoo, I may or may not be around for the next few days, but hopefully I will 'see' you all soon :)

Jan

They settled in just fine. They ate their food so fast and I can't believe how big their poops are. They are such cuties, and if you win big (don't get too greedy :p), you might have to use the money to buy new bunnies, because Pebbles and Bebe have no objection that they are here.

Aww I'm glad to hear they're doing ok... Stan I wish you lived nearer so you could look after my buns when we go away! :p

Have a good and safe trip Jan

Stan, you guys are just wonderful for keeping the bunnies! I know you are such a blessing to them!

Jan, I am thinking of you and praying for your situation to correct itself easily! I would be so frustrated!
