Did you go to a vet on the RWAF vet list I put up earlier? Most vets know very little about rabbits. Did you actually get a diagnosis? He was probably breathing fast because of the stress of the vet visit. Why antibiotics? What sign of infection is there? And why painkiller? And why syringe feeding when he is eating? They also said to syringe feed, but he won't let me . How do I get him to take it?
Oh yeah they were a rabbit savvy vet . She thinks he's got a respiratory infection and a uti . I don't know why the painkillers though. He's being syringe fed because he's not eating much , and losing weight .Did you go to a vet on the RWAF vet list I put up earlier? Most vets know very little about rabbits. Yeah he won't let me do it at allSyringe feeding can be stressful. I had to look up videos and get tips.
I even resorted to putting some of the critical care on his feet and chin. Ours would then clean it off.
Ours absolutely hated getting syringe fed. Anything you can get in him is great and just keep trying. But also try and keep the stress down.
Hopefully someone else in here has some more tips and syringe feeding.

Did she palpate his stomach at all?Oh yeah they were a rabbit savvy vet . She thinks he's got a respiratory infection and a uti . I don't know why the painkillers though. He's being syringe fed because he's not eating much , and losing weight .
He's not pooping because he's not eaten anything and won't let me syringe feed him at all . He's not got bloatingIs he pooping? You tried belly massage and examined if his belly is hard or soft and bloating?
I don't knowDid she palpate his stomach at all?
If he is not pooping and not eating he IS in stasis possibly, you need to take action, catch him and hold on you belly to belly, pet him for a few minutes, then sit down comfortably and holding him on you keep petting him and check palpate his stomach. If not bloated he must have hard stomach and you massage it with your fingers from both sides until it gets a little softer and you can feel his intestines. Make some fennel or dill tea, or chamomile tea, filter from seeds and give him through syringe every hour or two. Massage every hour or two for at least 10-15 mins each time, give him soaked in water greens, coriander, mint etc. He must be dehydrated as well so it is important that he gets something into his stomach so it can start moving. He can't eat because he has no room in his stomach, you can help him massaging and giving tea or if you can get baby gas drops (simeticone), they will help a lot.I'm so worried because I can't get him to eat anything and I don't want him to go into stasis
I will go pick some simethicone or fennel seeds upIf he is not pooping and not eating he IS in stasis possibly, you need to take action, catch him and hold on you belly to belly, pet him for a few minutes, then sit down comfortably and holding him on you keep petting him and check palpate his stomach. Gas drops or fennel/dill/chamomile/mint teas and massage, this will work.
If you do nothing you can lose him.
Take action, now.
