My bun had 4 babies at 3am of march 11th , I’m not sure if they are all being fed or what’s going on. They all seemed okay last night. There are three babies, one seems skinnier then the other two and also that same one has barley any fur growth like the other two.. how do I check if mom is producing milk. I just tried applying pressure but didn’t see anything come out.
two of the babies peed earlier when I had them out to check on them. Not sure if that means they have been fed. I am so worried about them . This is her first litter and mine to . Any advice would be helpful thank you .
I have a camera in the nestarea. She was in there feeding them it looked like two nights ago at 2 am, and last night or technically this morning at 3am and that’s the only times she does it. The first time she was in there for almost 10 minutes but last night she only was in there for 3-4 minutes. Maybe it’s just becuase be wen I checked on them it was already 2 in the afternoon so 12 hours after they were last fed? Becuase they all looked pretty fed yesterday morning. 748F2907-2E02-4955-98E2-B788E1F3B927.jpeg

The last one is the only one I would question, but I can’t really tell from the picture. You mostly just look at how wrinkly they are not how skinny. I’m not an expert so someone else might disagree.

The mom may not be producing enough milk or they may have missed a feeding. If they missed a feeding, you could try carefully holding the babies to her belly to see if they can get a feeding in. It just needs to be done carefully so she doesn't kick them or struggle and one gets thrown off.

If the mom isn;t producing enough milk, make sure it's not because of her diet. Nursing does should normally be on unlimited hay, and usually unlimited alfalfa based pellets or equivalent higher protein and calcium diet. But if she is still struggling to produce enough milk on a good diet, then it may become necessary to intervene with hand feeding, though that is a last resort due to the increased risks of aspiration occurring.

It's also possible there is a medical cause to their failure to thrive, but there's nothing to really be done for that at such a young age.

Baby rabbits are only fed once a day, maybe twice a day. if you look at them in the afternoon it will be a big difference from if you look at them in the morning. I can see milk in a few of these rabbit's bellies still (circled; at this age the skin is thin enough that you can actually see a white/lighter pink spot where the milk is. They look healthy so far)
