Hi Everyone!

Thought I'd give this forum a go...I love bunnies...I had two bunnies Coco & Smudge whopassed last year (very close together-they were a bonded pair of females)....Smudge was left on her own so I got her a friend - Bella, who she bonded with very well, but they were only together a couple of months before Smudge died.

I've joined the forum as I'm having a bit of trouble with Bella, she is much more nervous than my previous two rabbits and quite often grunts & lunges at me! It does upset me as I think she doesn't like me....she is 7 months now & only started to do this at around 5 months old. I had her spayed last week & I'm hoping that might help? I talk to her calmly and try to make her feel not threatened but most times when I go to pick her up this happens.....I'm actually starting to get a bit scared of her!....Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! :(

Welcome to RO

Is Bella spayed?

Usually agressiveness is caused by all those hormones, if she isn't I would suggest you get her spayed ASAP becuase it lessens the change of cancer, improves litter training habits and can stop agression completley. :)

Do you have any pictures of Bella ??

We love pictures on here :D

Hello Becca!

Thanks for the welcome....I will definitely get pics on, yeah I had her spayed last week-I'm really hoping that it will sort out the grunting....or even just improve it a little....

How old is Bella?

Becuase sometimes things like agression or spraying becomes habit and it can't be broken after spaying..... I think thats true can someone back me up??

Hi and welcome! It does sound hormonal as many does start being fertile around 6 mo. In a few weeks it should clear up. She could also be in pain from the spay (did they give you take-home pain meds?) and that could make her grumpy. Also, she may be upset at you for having her spayed! That will pass in time, especially with hormones out of the picture.

Becca your not reading what she wrote. Bella is 7 months old.!!

cocobaby just give Bella some time and the hormones will go down and she will come to love you like the others did.

Welcome to the forum! :) I look forward to seeing some pictures and hearing about your life as a bunny slave.

Women!Doesn't matter what species! ;) It's always hormonal. Like the others have said, just give it some time, once the hormones are out of her system she will calm down.

Hello, and welcome to the forum! :) I don't have much more advice other than what has already been said! I hope that spaying her helps! I can't wait for some pictures of Bella! :)
