Now her are some answers to your questions....

All the greens you had given them are great for rabbits. Except the dark Romain. Despite what people say about rabbits loving lettuce it's not very good for them. They can eat it, but it's not good for them. Also givenhim unlimited access to hay. It won't make them obese (by the way who wrote the care sheet??) Litter training him would be a great idea!!!

Well, I would have to disagree with TK (though I respect your opinion/experience). All the research I have done on bunny nutrition, both on-line and in books, states that dark romaine is fine. What you SHOULD avoid is iceberg or light colored leaf lettuce. 1) it is low in nutrients, and 2) it could cause diarrhea/loose stools.

But, I don't want to be disagreeable here. I think all of us could certainly agree that if you avoid the danger foods (check out the House Rabbit Society's website to find those), introduce new foods slowly, and keep a close eye on how you rabbit is doing with each new veggie...you should do quite well.

TK, I would be interested in what source you read that says not to feed dark romaine or what bad experience you may have had with it. My bunnies eat italong with many other greens...and with no ill affects...so I am curious about why you don't recommend it...thanks! :)

I guess those people rarely did they let the bunny out of his cage! Although this might be good for the rabbit (especially considering the kid) this cage was just too small! His new apartment is way better! Also, does he feel comfortable around people? He might be anxious the first few days! Anxiety can cause diarroeah to rabbits, so keep a close eye on his poops! If he does get it some pedialite in the water will prevent him from getting dehydrated! Anyway i think it would be a great idea keeping the cats away from the rabbit for a while because he might be anxious!

And my boys love having wheat and rice flakes as a treat! Wheat and rice is a bit better than corn, because corn is a bit too high in carbos!

Oh, and also burn that information sheet and if you find the breeder give him the link of rabbitsonline! He's got so many things to learn!
