New Bunny

Hello... I just got a new addition to my family. I saw him at the feed store about a month ago and instantly wanted him but wanted to make sure I prepared for a rabbit.. I finally got a home built toys water food and everything I needed to get started.

I went back a week ago and he was still there and I was so excited. He has been wonderful whoever had him before must have put work in. He crawls in your lap jumps on your shoulder and watches you. He loves to cuddle.

Now I'm curious the feed store said they get rabbits from pounds or people who can't keep them anymore.. They said he should be under 2 years old..and does not do well with other rabbits..... but I have no idea what type of rabbit he even is? Maybe someone on here will be able to identify the type.. I weighted him this morning and hes 2.4lbs so is he going to stay small or is he really young and not full grown?

my rabbits stoped growing when they were about a year, but it ranges from about 7 months to about 18 months.

Looks like a mix with some Netherland in the DNA pool. Very cute too--congrats!!

Hi there and welcome! I don't know his breed (though netherland mix looks about right) but his colouring is called Smoke Pearl Marten. Adorable

Welcome to the forum. He's so cute and I'd guess Netherlands dwarf mix also. Though his color is a Siamese sable marten not smoke pearl. Smoke pearls are more blue an light cream in color. Sable martens are sepia and light brown in color
