So I saved 4 bunnies from being sold for meat and was just wondering what breed and colors they are. But I'm not sure how to put pictures on here. HELP! :?

First off, if you paid for them then it wasn't a rescue because they made a profit and therefore have a demand to fill. So more rabbits will be bred to replace them.

I can't blame you for doing something that you had no knowledge of (one of my rats was from a feeder bin before o knew any different). Just please try to resist doing it again :)

However, that is besides the point. However they got to you, I'm sure they'll be happy with you.

Load your picture onto a photo site (like photo bucket) and copy and place the image code into the text box to share the picture.

Hi,

Congratulations on your new bunnies.

The Gallery here is a place you can post pics. I haven't been successful with posting pics there, but I know others have. I use Photobucket. Free account, easy to upload pics and then copy the img code of the pic and paste here.

Look forward to hearing your experiences with your new bunnies.

I use photobucket too. I'm guessing they are standard rex so they are bigger. My mini rex is 3 pounds. He's athletic but still at 3 pounds there wouldn't be much meat. *shudders* What a horrible thought.

I originally just went to the market for some fruits and veggies but when I saw these guys I couldn't leave them there....:(
These are the 4 I got from the market.

And this one I got from a pet store about 5 months ago they told me he was a Mini Rex but he's getting kind of big...

1st is mini rex maybe blue or lilac

2nd is mini rex either red or fawn/orange

3rd looks like some shaded color either siamese sable or tort?

4th looks like an orange holland or mini lop

5th is mini rex broken black

Those are my guesses

I can see why you didn't want to leave them! They're all so stunning!

Are they all separated by sex now? I hope that they were too stressed at the market for any breeding to take.

Are you planning on rehoming once any pregnancy scares are through? If so, I don't think you'll have much trouble, each one of them is gorgeous!

And, I know you can technically eat any rabbit, but I really wonder why he sold rex and and a lop for it. I feel that those are two of the breeds that speak "pet" to me the most.

people eat those?

I always imagined meat rabbits to be hmm plain and boring looking... not gorgeous and sweet looking like above. boy was I wrong and how sad.

gorgeous buns, i agree with the rest.. mostly mini rex. i love rex's

The second one, her fur is white closest to the skin then like a purple blue color then tan....It's really weird.

Try looking up lynx and see if that looks like her. Lynx are supposed to be white closest to the skin. The intermediate band is supposed to be orange and lilac on the surface. If the parents colors didnt mesh well then it could just be a poorly marked lynx but i could see it.

Thanks for all the input. And yes they are all separated now. The one female got some of her hair ripped out by another one. :(
But I'm not sure if I will rehome them or not. I think I'm falling in love. :bunnyheart
