hey guys I really need some advice on my two rabbits. I got my two rabbits Neutered in September and everything was fine they recovered great and were getting on fine. However I found them fighting in the cage on wednesday and then on christmas eve (thursday) i let them out and they started to fight again. One rabbit has a sore ear and there was just fur everywhere. so i have the cage separated.

This is the strange bit, i let them out today and kept an eye on them, one rabbit is running around with his tail up and I could swear i melt urine, asif he was spraying again, I was told this would stop when i got them neutered?? Really dont know what to do and am going to get some vat advice aswell but thought i would ask you guys as well as you have helped me wityh rabbit problems in the past :D

Hope you can help

Thanks Hayley

poor buns! i think perhaps you need to go back to the beginning with the bonding - separate accommodation but able to see and smell each other for a start. if they arent trying to fight thru the bars then let them meet on neutral territory. somewhere neither bun has had chance to mark. if you dont have anywhere neutral than a thorough cleaning will be needed.

dont leave them along together but gradually increase the time in each others company. time and patience is crucial when bonding bunnies:)

have they both had their post neuter check ups? it took one of my bucks a month or so to get the hormones out of his system.
good luck:)

hi there thanks for the reply, no they dont fight through the bars its just when i let them out one takes a run for ther other its very strange i cant leave them for a second or they are fighting. Im gettin another cage today so they will have more room to run around but for sure am going to rebond them when i can.

Nope i will have to bring them for a wee check up, its one rabbit starting the fights more than the other.

thanks for the reply

Just neutering your buns is no guaranty that they will automatically bond. I agree with Donna - you need to go back to Bonding 101. Reintroduce them gradually under supervision. You may want to try some car rides.
