Neutered bunnies still up to no good!

hey guys, its been a week since I got my two bunnies neutered but one is still trying to hump the other. Its not constant but it gets a little annoying. They are not fighting from what I can see. I thought getting them neutered would stop this, I know they will still do it to show whos boss.

Will this stop?

I hear sometimes it takes weeks, like a month or so, for the hormones to fizzle out after a neuter. This might still be hormones acting up.

Im not sure with bunnies, but with dogs, it can be dominance (Im head bunny around here) or, since they were neutered after the hormones kick in, they've already gotten in the habit of it. is it just mounting? or full intercourse? I don't know if you can tell with bunnies...

I have seen it last up to two months before bunnies calm down. How old are they?

I just recently had my buns neutered, the vet said it could take 2 to 4 weeks for all the hormonal urges to subside. Just give it a little more time and keep on looking out for any aggressive behavior in the meantime.

A week later they'll definitely still have hormones running through their system. This soon they can even still impregnate a doe.
Humping is definitely a dominance thing, so they may hump eachother occasionally for years just to establish and maintain who the "top bunny" is.

hey they would be around 7 to 8 months now I think I am not a 100% but it would be around then. I went in this morning and there was fur balls around the place but they seem fine this morning.

Oh to the comment above. I think it is just mounting..hope it is anyway haha

It depends on the bunn...but it can actually take up to three months for hormonal behavior to subside...but that is the highest end of the scale...they will continue to hump as they sort out their dominence issues...

Our two Lionheads are 2 and a half years old and Tucker still humps the crap out of Portia...poor girl!:shock:

Also it takes up to 6 weeks for hormones to return to normal!
