I need tips on medicating rabbits.Kahlua was put of 22.7 mg of B aytril two times a day and it is in pill form. Yesterday what I did was crush it up and mix it with some applesauce and give it to her with a syringe but she hated it! I am putting it into the area between her front teeth and her back teeth but i make a huge mess and she complains the entire time. Any tips of getting rabbits to take their meds? I tried mixing it with applesauce for her to lick up off a plate but that did not work at all.

I've requested liquid meds in the past.
I had my best luck mixing it with baby food.
Banana was what worked most of the time.
Syringe a little at a time and then move the tip of the syringe around to get her to swallow.

I've had good luck using a "pill popper". Ask your vet fora pill popper and instruction on how to use it.

You have to push the pill back far enough in the mouth where they cannot spit it out. Get it back to the molars.
