So, on Friday I'm going away to Norfolk because it's my nan's 80th birthday. We're all having lunch on the Saturday in what sounds like a very posh hotel. My mum has even got a new outfit!

So, I found this dress online:

And I will hopefully go buy it later, provided it's long enough for me- I don't wanna show too much leg!

But, what shoes could I get to go with it? I'm probably going to buy some new heels, and I know that black would work, but I don't like wearing black if I can ever help it- I prefer to wear colour..... but not sure what colour could go with it?

Appreciate any input! I wouldn't normally post stuff like this but I am so totally bored I'm planning my outfit now! :p

since the dress is a solid, i think you could really go with a wide variety of colors. i wouldn't do puprle though! i would try to find a shoe that has a cool detail such as a bow or something. for some reason i am thinking like a gray suedeish thing...

ETA: found some examples of shoes i like!

THey say that your shoe should match your hemline if at all possible. So if you can't find that color or a darker color in that same pallet, I would suggest you go with black.

Love the dress, you'll look magnificent. :)

Thanks guys! :)

Well, I found these:

Or these, but I'm not sure if that would be purple overkill or not:

(Can't get the link to work properly but they're the purple ones in the top row)

Lol... I'm going shopping in a little bit so I'll hopefully have a look at them properly then. It's always a bit hard to tell online... Knowing my luck none of them will be around in my size and I wont be able to find the dress anyway! :p

i like the first ones!!!

How about something in the copper tones? You could match your jewelry to it, and it might look really good with your dark hair?

OMG I love those metallic ones! Those would look good with that dress :)

I also love the purple if you can get a good match (or a bit darker)......

Can't wait to see what you get!

Thanks everyone! I really like that first pair, the metallic ones too. The more I look at them, the more I like them! I hope I can find them ok lol...

Steve's taking me in a bit hopefully. But we're going late so I'll only have about half an hour or so to dash round and find stuff at the mall! But tomorrow, I'm going with my friends to the amazing new huge shopping centre that's just opened up in Bristol :biggrin2:

And aww, thanks Michelle! I bet though, I've imagined this outfit to look really great, and then it'll turn out that it does look really great- just on a size 10 person, not me lol! :p

I know. But it's one of my best friend's birthdays, and I'm missing it on Saturday, due to going away to see my nan on the other side of the world. (Well, other side of the country!) So I'm seeing her tomorrow to make up for it. But Steve is taking me to the Lake District on Monday for 4 days to rest and recuperate- in beautiful surroundings! :biggrin2: I can tell I'm feeling a bit better though- I'm starting to notice how bored I am! For 4 weeks I've not done anything except lie on the sofa all day and I've only just noticed how boring it's been!

ok, i'm gonna try again:p

my faves are the first pair swanlake found, secound fave, the first pair Jen found. and BBB's right, don't do too much, or else you won't be able too go, no matter how nice your shoes and dress are!

Are you taking the vitamins? I hope you're on the way to feeling much better then! and Getting out might be good for you - just don't over do it! Make sure you get plenty of fluids also.... NOT ALCOHOLIC lol....

Lol! :D

Ooh I didn't see the ones Swanlake suggested! I like the first pair too, in black. Sadly they don't ship over here though.

And yes, very good point. Luckily it's only a lunch but I don't wanna end up missing it lol! Consider me told I guess! :p

Well...

If I were wearing that dress... there are tons of options. As long as your shoes match your purse, you're set.

A nice pair of white shoes, with a white purse and white earings. That would be really pretty.

Or beige shoes would work or yellow with a yellow purse - lots of options. :)

Good luck.

No alcohol? Awwww MAN!! :p Nah, the doctors told me that aswell..... :(

I'm taking vitamins! My sore throat is gone, and I'm not being sick anymore! I just feel really tired and groggy all the time. And I sort of accidentally did a bit of physical work at the weekend helping my mum cut down my hedge and had a pain in my side, which could be my spleen inflamed, so my mum panicked and put me on bed rest lol! I'm looking forward to getting away, some fresh air, and change of scenery! :D

It's funny, right before he admitted me to hospital, my doctor said 'this will knock the stuffing out of you, I'm warning you.' and I thought 'naaaah, I'll be fine in a few days!' But he's right, that's exactly how I would describe it! I feel like that deflated bunny in the caption contest LOL!
