I wanted to show off some pictures of my cats. Most of the pictures are of Aurora, my 5 1/2 month old birman wannabe kitten, but I threw in one of all three cat (Mercury, Venus and Aurora).
It started with Mercury, who was found in my car while I was driving. My boyfriend at the time let me keep him on one condition. The car I was driving was a Mercury Sable, and I either had to name the kitten Mercury or Sable. Since he looked more like a Mercury than a Sable, the name stuck. Two years later I got two more kittens. I decided since I had a Mercury, it made sense to stick with the planets, so I named them Venus and Saturn (sadly I lost Saturn 5 months later). Fast forward to Sept '07 when a client walks in the door and dumps a kitten in my arms and walks out with out giving me a chance to say a word. After doing a felv/fiv test on the kitten to make sure she was negative, it was time to figure out a name. I had Mercury and I had Venus, so I thought about Neptune, but she didn't look like a Neptune to me. Lily, my daughter, is really in to Sleeping Beauty. And in the beginning when Sleeping Beauty is born, she is named Aurora after the dawn. Then you have the northern lights, Aurora Borealis, so the kitten became Aurora, named after the dawn and the northern lights.Awww they are so pretty!!
I love your "space" theme on names! How did that come about?
