Her name is Takodo, a dwarf, and she is not fully grown yet.

She is definatley not very smart, and her and all her brothers/sister are very skiddish. I bought her from a petstore.

She jumps down really high places as much as possible. Off her cage, from my arms, and now she did what I really really doubted she would.

Before I got her I had a different rabbit, Ife, and I tok her on a roof to run and they her in the grass to eat, and also put her onthe dock with me. I gave her a way to a place with a few other bunnies, and that she'd be able to run around without supervision and she'd live in a bunny house instead of a cage.

I brought Takodo onto the dock, where I had Ife. She ran to the other side and stood there, looking at the water once or twice, then stopped. I looked away for a moment, and then heard the splash of her falling in. She jumps real far, so I was lucky to be able to reach her without jumping in, and I pulled her out. The water to the canal is really really dirty, slimy, and nasty, because of oil and stuff from the many boats in it. When I put her on the sidewalk after, she didn't even move. She just laid there, the only reason I knew she was alive was her eyes open. After that I picked her up, told my mom's boyfriend, and washed her off with warm water. For about 5-10minutes, she rest in my arms, probably half asleep.

Now, though, it refuses to rest and when it walks it shakes. It alo looks like it has trouble breathing. =/ When her legs are touched, she flinches and such.

Suggestions?

How long ago did this happen? Im no expert, but at the very least, shes probaby in shock right now.

Is it possible she may have hit her head or body on the dock when she jumped? Or that she slipped?

I would get her to a vet asap if you are able. If not, try and keep her calm and warm for now. Is she still wet? If so, wrap her in a warm towel or blanket and hold her. Keep things quiet and calm for now.

Hopefully someone else will have some advice..

About 30min-1hour ago. She isn't wet, but when she was I had done exaclty that. The dock is against the wall, and there is also a cage or net in the water. It's possible she could've gotten hit by the wall, or maybe her leg got caught in the net for a second and twisted it?

Do you have a rabbit-savvy vet near you who could check her out? I would have her checked to be sure she's not injured.

No, I live in Sarasota and they are in Miami.

I noticed something else, too. People make it seem like rabbits are supposed to be friendly. Like one girl said how her rabbit licks her and stuff. All the rabbits at the pet store are VERY skiddish and none are friendly at all. Do you tihnk they have a bad breeder?

It depends so much on the personality of the bunny. Two of mine are really snuggle bunnies (they sit in bed with me and lick my hand and everything) but another only likes to be pet on his terms. Most of the time, its about building trust. You have to let them trust you by not reaching into their cage, lettingthem come to you, etc. Also, most babies are a bit more skiddish than adults.

With regards to pet store bunnies, a lot are taken away from their mothers at a young age (add to that being shipped to some strange petstore with all kinds of people touching them and poking at them)and this might cause them to be frightened. You just have to give them time to trust you. They should open up as they grow.

Back to the hurt bunny, if you cannot take her anywhere, just keep her warm and safe in a quiet place for now. Maybe hold her in your arms in a blanket to soothe her..or place her in her cage with some blankets. Just keep things quiet for now. Shes probably in shock.

That advise really helps. I didn't know about not reaching in the cage and such. Frpm now on, I'll be sure to let her come to me.

do you have any other advise for that? Hmm.. *searches the forum*
