Hey, i am moving in a month or so and i was wondering if anyone had any tips on moving? we are only moving two hours away from where we live now and we are driving there, i have a 1 year old male. I hope someone can give me some pointers Thanks!

I have moved a few times with my bun as we travel between uni and home together. Where does your bunny live now? In a cage? Free roam? If you can make his new home as similar to his old home as possible that will be really useful. And has he ever been on a long journey in the car before? It might be worth taking him out on a few drives beforehand to prepare him. It’s hard to say much without knowing his lifestyle now

Do you have any specific questions?Right now he is pretty much freeroam whenever i am not at school or asleep.. At night he sleeps in a DIY cage made out of two big dog crates i guess if i wanted to ask something specific it would be how to make the whole thing less stressful for himI have moved a few times with my bun as we travel between uni and home together. So when you move give him as little space as possible - keep him in the cage if you can, or a small area surrounding. This will make him feel more secure and learn what is his space. You can gradually make it bigger and let him go free range as time goes by. Just try and keep things as familiar as possible - if he has favourite toys make sure they are there, keep his routine the same. And if he hasn’t travelled before definitely practice with some shorter journeys before going for a 2 hour drive.

when you are transporting make sure to cover the carrier with a towel or blanket so that they cant see out.. if they can see out it stresses them out!!

Be careful not to block off airflow completely. Leave part of it uncovered.

Hi there! With my Mizu we had an experience of moving abt 900 km by van from South to North Spain. And i kept him in a basket and took him out several times throughout the journey just to keep him in hands and show him around. Throughout the journey he did not eat (even his beloved hay and greens or treats) or drink, so i had to water him manually using syringe (without the needle ofcourse) which i prepared beforehand. And in the new home i kept him - exactly as Popsicle recommended - in a closed cage, just giving him an option of going out and looking around for some minutes first week. He only started eating something an hour or so after arrival. He was wary for the first month until he got adapted.
