Mother rabbit humping babies

Hello, my rabbit gave birth to 3 bunnies 3 weeks ago, she's fine, now they're fine, but today I saw her mother mount one of them, why does she do that to her?

If this continues to happen it can stress out the kits. You might have to move the doe out and only put her in to nurse them.

How large of an enclosure is the family being kept? We keep our mom and babies in nothing smaller than a 10x10 enclosure with an attached nest box. Sometimes rabbits can also mount if they are stressed. I've never seen a mother rabbit mount young babies of that age, but as mentioned previously, it's not impossible.

It's key to ensure that mom has space to get away from kits as they will start to annoy her potentially if they're kept in too close of quarters. Just my 2 cents.
