My daughter went to pick Molly up this morning and Molly ended up having a very watery poop on her and all over the floor. Im worried about her and have thrown away possible culprits of her illness, including hay. I've given her some rolled oats and taken away her pellets, and ive also put in some fresh hay. Her ears are very hot, they are not usually, im just wondering when i should really start to seriously worry and take her in to the vet??

Did she eat anything new yesterday? Like veggies or new pellets or something? If thats not the case, I would take her in to the vet just to be sure. Diarrhea is never a good sign.

I'll be praying for the little one.

I'd take her to the vet if she hasn't shown any improvment in 24 hours.

Is she eating and drinking?

:yeah that Definately make sure she gets in today. Sudden watery poop is a very bad sign, but the receptionist who makes the appointments won't always be aware of that.

she has eaten some of the rolled oats i have given her, is that a good sign? I am waiting for her vet, to get back to me, she said that she would see her todaybut she was dealing with another emergency first

Eating the oats is a good sign.
It would probably be okay to give her back her pellets, too (Hint: mix some rolled oats in with the pellets).
You want to make sure she taking in some liquids, too.
Dehydration can be a concern with diarrhea.

Hopefully you're at the vet already, but if you can't get in right away, make sure she's drinking --Pedialyte might be good, but make sure she's getting lots to drink.

And if you see a non-rabbit savvy vet, they'll probably know anyway, but make sure they give her liquids via a Sub-q -- a liquids infusion under the skin. Dehyration is her greatest enemy!!

Keep us updated, hope she's okay. :(

sas

Hey everyone, I tookMolly to the vet and she's fine, she drank some water before we left and has had rolled oats and hay. The vet just told me to keep a close eye on her, and to bring her in ASAP if there is anymore bouts of diarrhea, so far she hasnt had a poop since the diarrhea this morning. I will keep everyone posted on her condition, thank you for all of your prayers:sickbunny:

Is she pooping at all, and is it normal? If she's having normal fecals, the diarrhea might be cecal problems. The most common culprits for that aside from infection/parasites are too much carbs/sugars or too much protein.

she hasnt had a poo since the diarrhea this morning ( im checking her litter box every minute) but she has peed twice, a rather large puddle on the floor then on my shirt when i took her to the vet.
