Hey guys...
Don't worry, this has nothing to do with the girls...
A friend of mine asked about a condition she saw on a bunny (that has since crossed the Rainbow Bridge), and I thought I'd ask about it, as I couldn't tell her what it could possibly have been.
She said that the bunny would get some sort of mold in the fold of skin on the backside of the neck, and loss of hair in the area, etc. She said that the guy's vet gave them a topical cream, and it would clear up, but when the hair grew back, it would start right up again. The vet told the guy that basically what was happening was that the bun would sweat, and that sweat would get trapped in that fold, and then the bacterial would basically get out of control.
But...I thought I would ask...because to my recollection on what I've read, bunnies don't sweat.
So, though this is more out of curiousity...I thought I would ask you Bunny Health Gurus what this could have been.
(As a side note: the bunny did not die from this condition. It had a heart attack from being let out with the guy's dog...totally separate condition. All I can say is that I'm glad I don't/didn't know the guy...if I'd even had any inkling about the conditions this bun was living in, I would have called Animal Control.)
