So, I've been on a TON of interviews since then with no hope until yesterday. I'm still waiting to hear back.
Cross your fingers and hope they call.
I got the job! I start at Edible Arrangements on Monday! :biggrin2:

Hey! That's awesome!!! I just got an edible arrangment from them on my birthday, I had no idea something like that existed, but I think it is very cool! I think it would be fun working for them. Especially if you get to take home cancelled orders, hehehe.

Lalena what exactly is Edible Arrangements? What kind of job is it? What kind of work will you do? Isthis what you were looking for?

Oh btw CONGRATUALTIONS.+

Edible Arrangements are awesome!!!! We get them at our office occasionally. They use kale for decoration - guess who claims the kale! Congratulations on your new job.

:highfive:

Thanks All! :inlove:

You can see their website here. They make fruit baskets that look like flower arrangements and they are delicious! Right now, I'm hired as a receptionist; I take orders, process pick ups, wrap the arrangements, clean. But soon I get to learn how to make the arrangements. It's nice too because I'll have Friday and Sunday off!
It's not exactly what I am looking for (I'd rather find something still in graphic design) but it's a start! I think it will be fun to work there.

Hmm...looks like I'll have to bring some kale home for the bunnies sometime...:D

We've a few things in common: 1) having trouble finding a job (in IL, no less); 2) having PCOS. (My weight is fine, but I just break out instead.) Due to the breakouts, I can't have dairy products. After reading your post--and feeling stressed about my own money woes--I think I'll go get my container of Soy Dream out of the freezer....

Yeah, I think IL's unemployment rate is the highest in the nation right now...I think it's almost 8%? It's really crazy. I hope you find something soon.

And about PCOS, I break out too...does eliminating dairy really help? I'm curious.

Last night, I was up at 4am w/ horrible cramps/upset stomach. Decided to take a bath to ease the cramps...woke up at 5am in the bathtub. Thank goodness I have a small bathtub and didn't fill up the tub a lot. My hubby didn't even know I was in there. I still can't believe I slept in the tub for one hour. Not my shining moment...but I was SO tired!

I hadn't even heard that. Yikes! Well, that's rather depressing....

Well, for me, breakouts are also a genetic issue (since my mom and three of her four siblings all had serious acne). I learned by age 12 that dairy productsdefinitely make me break out; I cut dairy out of my diet by the following year. Nowadays, I take a calcium supplement and eat soy-based (aka, fake dairy) items: sliced cheese, ice-cream, etc. (The Soy Dream brand is the best; no one can tell that their soy-cream products, including "ice-cream" sandwiches, aren't made with milk.)

That would've scared me, too! But it sounds like you really needed both pain relief and sleep. At least you were able to get both (albeit in a somewhat unconventional way). ;)

Went to an endocrinologist for blood tests for EVERYTHING 2 weeks ago...and he called and told me they came back fine. WTF! I was hoping there was something wrong but apparently...I'm just a chunker. LOL. So, I have to go back in 2 weeks and have a 'chat' with him (I have a feeling he's going to put me on a diet...good luck to him).

Congratulations! What a neat thing aboutEdible Arrangements. WE don't have anything like that, or I just haven't seen any. :lookaround
They do have 2 stores in Alberta, Canada...I believe they have like 20+ stores in Canada total. :)

BTW, I got to make an arrangement and take it home the other day. It was delicious. I haven't been answering phones yet at work but I have been getting to dip all the fruit in the chocolate. Yummy.:D
