Some of you might not know, but the Midwest has had a severe temp change over the last week. In Chicago, I believe we were at 1 degree Fahrenheit with the windchill last Wed, and now we're at 63 degrees Fahrenheit. In a few days, we're going back down to the 20s. What does this mean?

Tornado weather.

I was just watching the news and saw there are BAD storms in Wisconsin, and Illinois. They mentioned Peoria.

Crystal (AngelnSnuffy), are you ok?

So far we're ok here, but I decided to cut my shopping trip short because of the clouds. I don't like to be too far away from home in this weather. I'd rather be here to get the buns if I have to. I'll keep everyone informed of any alerts, etc.

Stay safe! :groupparty:

UPDATE! 5:30 PM CST: We have bad hail and lightening in Will County/Cook County IL. Keeping an eye out online for storm warnings!

Crystal said an hour or two ago that it was starting to storm there, then she went home from work.

Hope you guys in those areas are ok! You're getting temps close to here and it's summer here .

That's good to hear. Hopefully she's ok. I'm waiting for my husband to get home from downtown via the train, and he's late, so I'm nervous.

Yeah, the weather has been just plain crazy lately. I was outside in just jeans and a sweatshirt today, no jacket. It reached almost 70 degrees Fahrenheit earlier...in January.

I'm in Lake County (IL), and were all fine :).

It's been raining since late last night. It's nothing very serious, just some rain and lightening.

I hope everyone is okay xx.

We're fine, although it's been crazy foggy and rainy all day. We watched the thunderstorm out of the window at work this morning. I'm betting lots of people have flooded basements. Thankfully mine is usually bone dry.

I'm 45 minutes west of St Louis, right along the Missouri river.

Last night we had bigger-than- golfball sized hail, over 3" of rain - tree limbs are down, power is out all over the area, roads are flooded and much more is supposed to be on the way this morning/afternoon.

I'mm actually headed outside now to do an outside check on my house/property to make sure I spot any damage I need to attend to.

A dear friend of mine in Fair Grove, Mo (outside of Springfield) let me know she and hers are ok but they have pretty bad home damage at this point. It worries me, as she is to have he baby at the beginning of Feb and she doesnt need stress. :(

O.k. here in Elkhart, Indiana (northern part of the state next to Michigan).

There is a lot of flooding around here, many underpasses, streets and county roads impassable.

Normal midwest weather, a week ago I had almost 2 feet of snow, now I have small ponds in my yard! lol

Aww, you are so sweet to ask;). Actually, there was a tornado watch issued until 9 pm last night. The storms we got were issued as severe, but they weren't that bad. There was a touch down in Pekin, IL, which is about 20 mins south east of here. south of us got the brunt of it.

I couldn't get over the mild temps yesterday, strange. Global warming?:?

Glad you're okay too!:)

Glad to hear that everyone is ok. My hubby got home alright. However, we woke up to water ALL over our kitchen from our skylight. So we get to clean it up and call people out...yay.:?

I'm on the LaSalle/Grundy county border and while we had alot of wind, thunder and lightening we are ok. Our greatest worry now is the Illinois River (I'm 1/2 mile from it). We are dealing with alot of flooding in our area.
