I have had a male rabbit for a few months now and I just recently got another male. They get alone really well , and I know they mount to be territorial but my older male is making grunting mating sounds. Do males do this with other males ? Or could my new bunny be female

My oldest boy bunny always makes a buzzing noise that sounds like a bumble bee when he gets excited or wants to mate.

Male rabbits may try to mount and mate any rabbit, male or female.

Both my male and female rabbits grunt when mounting some times when being mounted - sounds like he is just trying to let the new boy know whose boss. But keep an eye out for nipping, kicking, circling, and snorting....could be they are getting ready for a fight. They may do this and just pee on each other too - 2 of my males will do this occasionally when they get to fun outdoors for excercise, like today. Stinky buggers!

What are the ages of both of your rabbits? Are either neutered?

Male or females can grunt and males or females may mount another rabbit. Grunting can have many meanings including irritation or pleasure. It often depends on the context.
