I do have to question our education system when there are high school seniors who:

Can't spell "graduation" . . .

(I don't think they should be allowed to graduate until they can spell it LOL)

Can't spell "college" . . .

Don't know the number of US states . . .

Don't know how many months are in a year . . .

etc.

m.e., I was a pre-vet major last semester and I couldn't handle the sciences and difficult maths. I was failing miserably and I dropped all the classes and the major and switched to Journalism. Much easier (aside from the maths, of course. Luckily I onlyrequire 2. With pre-vet, I required 8!)

The school system I graduated from weakness was math too, I had such trouble with it in college. I got my BS in Biology and calc and chemistry killed me too. I was stuck with Organic Chemistry III being my only class my last semester and I passed it with a D! But I passed and got that nice piece of paper that says I gradumicated! :D

Wooooo, a BS in Biology! Nice! :D

I wanted a BS in Zoology, but the math courses are a killer there too. I want to be a photojournalist, but it's two separate majors at my school and I'm not allowed to major in photography and journalism because it's in two separate senior colleges. So my only option is to get a BS in Journalism and to go back and get a BS in photography afterwards. Which sucks because I wanted a masters in Journalism, but that'll take too long.

Yeah, my BS in Biology would have qualified as pre-vet. I figured out that while I love animals, veterinary medicine was not the best way for me to express that ;)

That's odd that you can't major in photojournalism. Does your school allow for self-designed majors? Our school doesn't even offer a photographic arts degree, so my dreams of becoming a photoanthropologist will have to wait :rollseyes

Krissa, O-Chem scared me! I got out before I had to take it :surrender

m.e., there's not too many options at my school for photojournalism. There's lots of photography courses, but most are for majors only. And there's only a few photo journalism classes offered for journalism majors. I talked to my educational counseler, and she said getting two different majors is really the only option. And we talked about getting the BS in journalism first, because it'll be easier to find a job post-graduation. Photography is harder job market by itself to get a job in post-graduation.
