Hey everyone - I thought I'd let you know - Zin and I will be meeting tomorrow (almost today) at 2 pm in Seguin, TX so that she can pick up the rabbits.

She PM'd me tonight to make sure that I'd be ok with her taking them because she heard me being sort of soft about them on the phone (I do care about them). To be honest with you - if I'd had the chance to keep them - I definitely would have bonded with them - but I held myself back because I knew Amy wanted them to go where they would get more attention.

Anyway, Zin was worried about me - but I'm ok. As I explained to her - I can REALLY use this space for Tiny and Miss Bea and that makes me REALLY happy.

I'm bringing my camera and I think her husband is bringing his camera - so hopefully we'll get some pictures - she's something like 6'3" and I'm 5'4" - so I'm not sure if we'll both fit in the picture...but we'll try! :biggrin2:

I am excited and happy - I really think these two buns are gonna have an EXCELLENT home...

Car is packed with their food, treats, toys, litter boxes, 2 gallons of water, and even...M&M in the carrier. Mallory was great - Robin had to sort of mini-chase Miss Maddy around (who was thumping the whole time) .... but I think she's ok. Both rabbits are riding together in a cat carrier as they are normally so close anyway and I think this will be less stressful for them.

We're on our way....I even have my camera in case Zin's husband's camera doesn't work for any reason (and I recharged the battery last night).

Talk to y'all later....

I made mention of some great news coming to the board - on the RO TODAY thing. I didn't say who or what. I thought maybe Zin and Peg might want to do that.

Anyone hear from Amy?

Happy to hear Mallory and Madilyn will be going to Zin's... a perfect ending for sure.... Best wishes that the trip is uneventful... Peg, you're wonderful!

They made it! I posted about it in the Mod Squad section, but I'll post the same thing here, too. (I would've posted about it here, too, but didn't find the thread at first, LOL!!)

Just wanted to let you guys know that they made it safely to Zin a couple hours ago. I just got off the phone with Peg letting me know they made it to Zin safely, and though Peg cried her eyes out (she's really gonna miss them), she could tell that they were going to a wonderful home with Zin.

I would let others in the main forum know, but I don't want to step on any toes...

Hugs and three cheers for Peg for making that long drive and doing so much to take care of those two sweethearts for so long!

Rosie - thanks for sharing with the mods...I really appreciate it. I hope I did ok with the announcement in the RO Today forum. I'll PM Zin and ask her to update it with how they did when they got their new home....

I think you did great! I'm sorry it was so hard to let them go, but peg, I think they're gonna be fine and you can always keep track with Zin! You took great care of them and obviously someone thought it was just fine to take a bath! That's an awesome indication of adjustment!!!

I didn't want to announce it in the thread, but I wanted to set it up for all of you to come on there. I was afraid to say anything incase I jinxed it LOL!

Peg, I still want to say that you did more than anyone ever could ask for and had you kept them I think that they would have been great with you - any bunny would! but they're meant to go to Zin and you have something else to do.... it will all work out!

You're so welcome, Peg...:)

And I think it's all for the best...and now Harriet can come into your guys' bedroom!! I'm SO SO happy to hear that!! How wonderful!!

Hugs!!!

I hate to say you're right - but I think you are.

First of all, I really and truly believe that the timing is perfect. I'm active on another forum called "Get Organized Now" and one of my goals on that forum (we set weekly and monthly goals, etc) is to work on the office this week. (Every week they work on a different room and this week is "choose your room" week if you don't have a family room). I plan to do some major rearranging in here.

Tiny has "un-litter trained" himself - so he and Miss Bea are moving into M&M's cage. It's 12 square feet approximately - plenty of space for them.

I'm going to take the closet (now that they won't be totally free roaming) and turn it into either 2 or 3 cages. I need to take some measurements. I suppose I should say "pens" and not cages...but anyway.

In addition, I'm moving Amy's HUGE tv and stand out of here - and moving my printer and stuff - and I'll have room for maybe two more NIC pens or one larger NIC pen. My decisions aren't totally final yet on how I'm going to do it.

But basically, I'm going to move a few more bunnies in here in NIC pens (Art has agreed to it) and I'm going to set it up with a schedule so that on Mondays I clean in here and all the pen can get a good cleaning (We sweep them frequently anyway, etc).

I really think this will make me much happier and give some bunnies more time with mama. I am pretty sure Sport will be moving in here - she doesn't get along with anyone and she is soooo bored in her cage.

So I think the changes will be good ones for me....and I'm getting excited about it.

But I did walk in the house tonight and cry when I saw M&M's empty pen....it was really really tough.

Did Amy LIVE there? she left a tv and stand? I thought she just sort of stayed with you for awhile..... you still have her furniture? when is that leaving?

She's going to save up money for us to send the tv back - its a nice one - don't know how big (I could check). My understanding is that she doesn't want the tv stand or the other odds and ends of furniture back.

I never moved the tv/tv stand out of here when we moved me in because I was in such a hurry to get my office set up for work.

So I'm going to move that stuff out and move things around and get this office "personalized" for me.....the tv is going to live in the hallway by the other bedroom (which is a disaster) until I can get things rearranged better. Just by moving that out and a plastic 3 drawer unit out - and a small round folding table (that I'm using at the moment) - I think it is going to clear out a 2' X 6' area - which I'd like to make into two 2' X 3' pens I think...I'm still figuring things out.

Anyway - when Amy can afford to have the tv shipped back - it will go back.

She was going to live here at first - which was fine w/ us - but I'm NOT a neatnik (more of a slob) and she is very neat and I know she missed Ryan and stuff and wanted to go home...so it just didn't work out for her to stay here.

I understand that too by the way....very different lifestyles (our town is way different from hers too)...

Anyway - I'll have to share pictures in my thread once I get the office arranged.

Tiny & Miss Bea will still have free roaming time during the day (once he retrains himself) and I'll still spend time w/ him.

It's hard to live with other people no matter what! and I can understand the difference in where she lives. My nieces freak over me and my animals - they live in the city LOL! I can't even go to Indianapolis downtown much anymore - it gets on my nerves!

I'm glad you can get your office all back together.

My goals are to get organized this year also. I have to set some time each day to do some stuff too. We want to do some home remodeling and get the place ready to sell - we want a farm.

I need to work on my laundry room - new tile, finish the wall that no one has finished over the 3 past owners LOL and the rest is rough wood cabinetry - need to base coat and paint those. That's just one room.

I have painted my house several times since we moved here 14 years ago. I need to paint about every room before we put it on the market - so I think I'll do the bedrooms and stuff first....... then do the main rooms so they will look super fresh.

*sigh* sometimes I wonder if it wouldn't be better to stay here LOL!

Ok - now I'm really ROFLOL. Here is what my "office" is going to look like...

1 desk (4' long I think) w/ computer on it. Something with printer on it to the left of the desk.

To the right of the desk - either one 2' X 6' NIC pen under the window - or 2 pens that are 2' X 3'.

Following along that wall we'll have Tiny & Miss Bea's NIC pen...then along the next wall (their pen is almost an L shape) we have Gracie's 2' X 3' NIC pen. Then we have Cordelia's 2' X 3' NIC pen. Then we have Cassanova's 2'X3' NIC pen. Then we have the small refrigerator (for carrots and cilantro and stuff)...and we're at the closet on the other wall.

That will be made into either a 2' X 6' NIC pen (it isn't quite 2' wide) OR two 2' X 3' NIC pens.

Outside of the closet we have the 2' X 3' big feed store stock tank that I keep my sick boys in. (Wedge just graduated and went back to the garage and Cassanova was in there for a while till he graduated to his own pen).

Oh - then we're back at the door.

So perhaps I should call this something other than an "office" because really - it isn't an "office" so much as it is a rabbit habitat or something.

Of course - that is once I get done making up the pens this week.

Peg
