Hello

My bunny, Tippy, is a 1.5 year old female. I noticed today that some of the fur on the tops of her front paws is missing. There is so scratch or scabbing but the area is slightly red. Is this a sign of shedding or should I take her to a vet?

Thanks so much

My first thought is that she might be licking them alot or chewing off the hair there.

I don't know if using ointment would help or she'd just lick or chew it off too, but you might want to try plain neosporin. That is, not neosporin plus.

Thanks! I should also mention that we recently adopted a cat from the SPCA. He does not have any fleas or other little critters, but could she be stressed due to the new animal? He is afraid of Tippy so there is no contact between the two.

That's possible. Just keep watching & hopefully it will get better. If it gets worse instead, I guess a vet visit would be in order.
