hi , I’ve been on and off breeding pets buns for some years now , never really had an issue until this latest litter ( and I’ve had a break in breeding for about 15 years ) .
My doe gave birth a week ago to 8 kits , four were HUGE and four were middle to small weight . For the first two days I thought we only had Five , then realised the littles were in the nest too but struggling . I took them out to shelve , sadly I left it too late and lost four .
However I now have three massive week old fatties ! And one that’s a bit smaller , it was struggling a bit earlier so I gave it a few ml of milk replacer , but I’m worried ( possibly through having fought very hard to save the others) I will lose this one too.
An anyone tell me what an ‘ideal weight ‘ for a lionhead would be at day 7 ? I will weigh tomorrow.
