I've got bouncers at my door

I've been observing my royal pair and have found them to quite fancy the activity of snuggling in my doorstep. They would sometimes even cross each other and completely block the doorframe. They look like bouncers guarding their yard. Sometimes they will do the same on their flat's door as well.
Why would they do that?

I love them!!

My Lawrence loves laying along the edges of things... I have several places in the house where carpet meets tile, and all of those places are his favorite spots.

Being in the doorway enables them to keep an eye on the activity in both rooms. If you're in one of the rooms, it also means they know if you try and leave
