It's currently -8° F here (North of Indianapolis) and windchills are unbelievably cold. Tomorrow morning they expect around 15 below. I wish the schools would just CLOSE! Everyone is on a 2 hour delay. We have about 4 inches of snow on the ground.

According to the NOAA (National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration) website, it is -11[sup]o[/sup]F (-24[sup]o[/sup]C) here. Yikes! :? Oh, the site is http://www.noaa.gov for anyone who needs a good weather "prediction" site. It has a pretty good satellite image feature. Just type in your zip code, click on "radar and satellite images" on the low(er) right, then click on "composite loop". You can check out the national loop as well. That was cool in hurricane season! (off topic, sorry!)

Angieluv, my sister lives in West Salem (I think that's the name) and their doors to their apartment were frozen shut! They live in an "upper" duplex kind of thing. Wisconsin winters like this suck. Big time! :grumpy:

I am going to brave the nasty conditions and go outside onto my porch to fill the bird feeders. I doubt I will get any birdies, but in weather like this, the birds that do come to the feeders deserve a buffet!

I understand! Did you just add your state to your profile? I didn't see it before! That's about all I was looking for (I follow weather patterns and such, so when people talk about their weather, I just like knowing where (approximately).! I'm not a creepy stalker (unless you are a rabbit!) ;)
yup I just put it on their and I know you are not a stalker:D:dutch

It's 45 degrees here today. I know that is nothing to the northerners, but Floridians aren't good with the cold. LOL

We have no gymnasium at our school. Our coach has been having make-shift PE classes in hallways and on the stage in our cafeteria. hehe

I can remember playing outside every day in the SNOW in Michigan. Now if it's chilly, Florida teachers keep the kids inside. heh People's blood is thinner down here. They just can't take the cold.

Now, I'm saying that, but I'm sitting here in my flannel jammie top and cotton pants...and I'm thinking about getting some socks on.

:D

Enjoy the global warming people! ;) hehe

45° F!!?? I'd be thrilled! LOL! That's barn work weather!

In the fall it seems super cold tho. When it hits 55° F here, people break out the spring clothing...... including shorts!

Including me! I normally run around outside in shorts/t-shirt once it hits about 60[sup]o[/sup]F. :biggrin2:

Lol, I can relate. We reached a high (if you can call it that) of around 60 degrees today in Orlando. I had the space heater going full blast while wearing a turtleneck and sweater. And to think that I lived in Colorado for 20 years.

I'm sick now, I think. My throat hurts, I'm cold, and it's -2[sup]o[/sup]F outside. I just sent Will to the store for some food. I want orange juice! :(

It's -10° F currently. Schools are closed tomorrow because it's going to get colder and the windchills will be much worse.

Today, they were on a 2 hour delay.... it wasn't as cold but a bunch of parents got mad they didn't cancel in some areas.

-11[sup]o[/sup]F here! :grumpy:

Check out our bedroom window... That white stuff around the edge is about [sup]1/8[/sup] inch of frost. It froze our window shut!

EDIT: I'm special and forgot to add the picture in this post. Look down to my next post for the picture. :biggrin2:

It was -9C last night, its about 6C outside I think about now (havnt been out this morning ) For England winters, this is swimming weather....my friend said "its a skinny dip in the local pond weather M!!" LMAO. :biggrin2:

Eep! Helps if I post the picture of my window, eh? The white edge is all frost!

This is turning out to be a nasty Wisconsin winter. Normally, we just get a lot of snow. Not this cold of weather!

That pic is actually pretty funny :p Luckily, we havnt had ice and snow that bad that it has frozen the windows or doors shut, but saying that the ice was 3-4" thick at one point in the bird baths

Hehe! I was putting little bowls of warm water outside for the wild birdies, and when those froze, they cracked my plastic bowls! Our mini-pond is frozen solid! Our one goldfish that we have left (brought him in the house in Fall) is happily in our indoors fish tank!

Okay, so this morning I slept in a little (my bed was soooo snuggly warm). I got up at 8:40 am...and it was -14.7 degrees!! Owchiwawa!

My hubby had built a fire before he left for work. I so love that man!! :biggrin2:

With this extreme cold the past few days, the wood burner has been our salvation! Our older home has crummy old windows and doors, so let's say the furnace has to work OVERTIME to keep the house liveable. So we use the woodburner downstairs (Those of you who want to wear your shorts and swimsuits would feel perfectly warm in my "lower level" family room....) and leave the basement door open. It really keeps the chill off of the air. Of course, we're hoping that it helps our heating bill, too.:?

Its getting wormer tomorrow (today -2F) to 30F:biggrin2:
