Is there any way to stop bunnies from moving/getting out of their plastic pen against the wall?

I apologize if this has been posted before or is too similar to my previous thread. But I am at my breaking point. I followed Blue Eye's great advice by using the wall to extend the playpen so that instead of having 5.5 - 6 feet to run around, they have about 10 feet, but they keep moving the pen and slipping out by the wall. I have placed large boxes and everything against the pen to prevent them from moving, but bunnies only need a few inches to slip out :( They keep getting out, jumping on my table and breaking my vases and statues, and eating up the wires even though I sprayed them with bitter cherry spray :( Gary is neutered, but he is the main culprit.

I love my bunnies, but if I cannot find a way to keep it from moving, I might just need to revert to connecting the gate again, and making it much smaller. I just felt bad because 3 fairly large bunnies need more than 6 x 4 feet.

Any help would be much appreciated :(

Put something heavy there, and attach the panels with zip ties, tape or whatever. That could be bricks, or some heavy piece of wood, like one for a fireplace. I would also put something inside the pen where the gap is, so they can't reach that spot. Cou can tape the panel directly to the floor, those are tiles, right? If you worry about adhesive residues when removing the tape, rubbing alcohol, aceton and so on take care of that.

It's amazing how persistant rabbits are when they know that there's a way, isn't it? :D

bitter cherry spray

That definitly sounds like a rabbit appetizer, they love quite bitter stuff like dandelions, not to metion cherries :D

Hmmm, those sound like great ideas! Before, I was putting the huge container that has all of their supplies, inside of the pen, but they still got out. I will 100% try firewood and/or bricks.

Well, the spray is for dogs, and it smells great, so go figure, haha. Thank you so much for the help, hope this will stop these silly rabbits.

I had the same problem with my buns when they were babies so I put a heavy accent table with metal legs next to the play pen and used zip ties to secure the pen to the table legs. It worked when they were little but eventually Butterscotch could move it just enough to squeeze through. I ended up just buying another play pen and completely enclosing the whole area. Essentially, I paid $44 for safe bunnies and peace of mind. Well worth it!

Also, I just have to say this. I don't know why, but I think it is so cute and funny that your bunny's name is Gary. It just makes me smile every time I read it.

Fix under $3.

I’ve had to do this with many things....Christmas tree (cats climbing it), pens (bunnies), etc. You may have to shift the pen slightly right or left but buy some eye hooks (pic below) and screw them into a stud in the wall- at the top and bottom of where the gate is. Attach zip tie from gate to hook and... boom. Done. Anything that isn’t secured to the floor or wall will eventually move just enough to let the little escapees out. These just screw into the wood and are very.....very....hard to pull out. Hope this helps. Note- this will not hold if directly in the drywall. Too thin. Need to find a stud in the wall.
*Tip- tap the hook in the wall a little with a hammer to get it started as they can sometimes be hard to get going. Once in, put a pencil or something through the hole and turn it. Much easier than doing it with your fingers.
