So I’ve been reading a lot here and I saw a link to an article about how to tell if your rabbit is underweight, healthy weight or overweight. So here’s some background and pictures of my rabbits.
Belle:
She’s a 1 year old French lop (probably a mix) and weighs 11-13lbs. Her diet is 1/4 cup oxbow adult pellets in the morning and a big handful of romaine lettuce at night. And of course unlimited timothy hay (sometimes I’ll mix in some meadow grass hay) and water. You need to apply a tiny bit of pressure to feel her ribs and she has a roll of fat under her chin. Here are some pictures (they’re a few months old, might’ve gotten slightly bigger since but if she did then not a lot):
Snowball:
She’s a 4 year old lion head (again probably a mix) and weighs 5 lbs. She gets 2 tablespoons of oxbow adult pellets, a big handful of romaine lettuce and unlimited timothy hay and water. You don’t have to put pressure to feel her ribs but she’s not boney either.
Tux:
He’s a 3 month old Dutch and probably weighs around 3lbs (but I’ve never weighed him so I’m not sure). His diet is unlimited bunny 16 pellets, timothy hay and water. You don’t have to apply pressure to feel his ribs but he’s not boney.
Thanks in advance!
